Great update, I love the picture of you guys waiting outside!
Totally. You have mentioned both cute animals and cute foreign WS CMs in your TR, making you pretty spectacular in my book.
You should totally read the billboards. You will never forget them once you see them, and you'll never be able to look away again.love all the pictures, and have I mentioned how much I love that yall drive too! I'll def keep an eye out for billboards on our drive down lol! I'll even snap a pic for you!
Wish I lived closer so Brandon could teach me how to use my not so fancy DSLR lol! I'm sick of using auto setting, too lazy to make a real effort.
I'm pretty jealous of how quick you guys go to Disney!
Can't wait to hear all about the first day of firsts!
Hooray for getting there! We stayed at CBR last December, and I thought the bed was super comfy, too. Great photos...your kids are very photogenic, like they're not even aware of the camera!

Aw, thanks! I'm a bit of a car seat fanatic, truth be told! Both girls also have five-point harnesses and will be able to have those for a few more years thanks to the seat I bought them. I'm in no hurry for them to "grow up" in any way, especially safety!I wish we were close enough to drive to disney! you still have sawyer rear facing, what a good mama!
I love brynn's crew. that's so cute.
ThanksI really don't mind reading about the trip down. It's not Disney, but the anticipation is there and it's interesting. Yours, though? You had me cracking up! Loved it!The excellent parenting skills, the 2 year-old who is just learning to talk, but has already learned the oh so important words "Disney Wuld", the perfect expressions at the welcome center photo op, the picture of you guys waiting (not so patiently, I'M sure) outside the room to be let in, etc. I can't wait to read more!

WHOA. And guess what? I TOOK THAT PICTURE!!!!!Okay, I, for one, love the "travel day" trip updates! So much excitement! (Or maybe I am just anxiously awaiting our next trip.....) Your pictures were great, especially the Welcome to Disney sign...seriously one of the best I have seen!!
The picture doesn't even do it justice (though I took THAT picture, too, so obviously I am winning on this update!). It was seriously the most gorgeous sunset I've ever seen...or maybe I was just in a really good mood...I may be in the minority, but I love arrival updates! Arriving at Disney is when it all starts!
Wow, that sunset picture is phenomenal!
CBR looks cute. YAY for arriving! Can't wait for the first day to begin!
Okay, I have to admit that I am a little like that, but with my pillows. I failed to include that I would not leave any of my zillion pillows at home, and I can't sleep if they aren't perfectly arranged. We all have our "things," ya know? Its probably really sad that I am exactly like Brynn with her crew. Every night I have to set up my stuffed animals exactly where they need to be. I think I need to go see a therapist about that, since I am a lot older than her. I know Im a five year old stuck in a teenagers body.
Anyways
I wish I lived closer to Disney like you guys do. Im from Massachusetts and my mom and I just drove in August. Worst 22 hours of my life.
Dont you just love those billboards? Very kid friendly
I love how CBR has a Nemo theme to the rooms!
Hello...I'm subbing onI am looking forward to hearing the adventures of your lovely family...
I've stayed at the Poly but not at the CBR... so I'm really looking forward to hearing your opinion of it...
My princess is a bit older than your two... she just turned 18 but honestly I can close my eyes and easily see her as a six year old... (btw she still absolutely adores and identifies with Belle...
My 10 year old little man is one of the smartest, funniest and happiest people I know and he too has Asperger's ... it can be a challenge sometimes but he has one of the coolest, creative and empathetic views of the world...
I'm looking forward to reading more...
So I'm guessing you're there now and having a blast, right!?! I'll have to check out your TRs and try not to lurk!!I'm here! I love your report so far. DH and I will be going to WDW for our 1 year wedding anniversary, and we will be doing a split stay with Poly and some other hotel, not sure yet! So this will be great to read. I know what it's like to have lurkers, my TR's consist of nothing but lurkers ![]()
In case you're wondering, my sig probably says I'm supposed to be enjoying a DLR trip right about now, but I'm still in the car, waiting to finally be there! Haha!
See, Dani, I never thought about it like that. Leave it to you to put a new spin on thingsYeah, I'm with Marissa on this... I LOVE reading about people's arrival days! I think it's fun seeing where people are coming from, whether or not they're driving or flying, and that whole adventure in itself.
There's something awesome about the whole build-up to the trip, and seeing the transition of real life to being immersed in the magic of Disney World.
Anyway, I love how Julia wanted to stay at school. THAT is dedication right there! But it sounds like having that extra time was helpful!
Brynn and her little crew; so cute. I totally get what she's saying though. I used to feel guilty if I felt like I wasn't paying enough attention to ALL of my stuffed animals.
I love that photo of Brynn and Julia at the welcome center. They're so cute... and Sawyer coloring. Your kids are pretty darn cute.
That Welcome sign is my favoriiiiite. That's when I know I'm officially on vaca!
The photo of you guys outside of the room is kind of hilarious. Like, please let us iiiiin, hahaha.
Those billboards, btw, sounds ridiculous. That area is VERYYYYY different than the billboards you'd see here in Washington state! At least in Western Washington anyway.
I have to say, I'm jealous you guys can drive down to Disney World! That makes things so much more affordable and easy, especially when you have kids.
YAY I can't wait to see your first Disney day!
I'd love to say that I have a comprehensive overview of the entire resort, but that would be a lie! There's some, but not tons. It is a great resort for a moderate...but I may be kind of spoiled now that we've stayed at Poly! Glad we stayed there after CBR instead of before!I agree with everyone else, I love arrival day updates. There's something about the anticipation and excited at the start of a trip that is just infectious!
I'm looking forward to seeing more of CBR. It's one of the few resorts I've never visited, so it'll all be brand new!
For all the potty breaks, our travels were very timely this time! Maybe it's that I didn't allow lunch and dinner breaksI like arrival day updates!! Glad to hear that you made safe and timely travels!
Yay for getting most of your requests for CBR!
I know those South of the Border ones, too! I saw those when I went to visit someone on a military base once! Like I said, North Georgia is VERY different from South Georgia. It's another culture altogether.I like arrival day updates! But I feel the same way about writing them in my TR's, I always feel like no one really cares so I try to breeze through it!
I love that Brynn had to bring half of her crew with her to Disney, so cute! I might be an adult, but there are certain things I have to have with me when I go on vacation too!
It's been a long time since I've driven down to Disney, but if I ever do, I'll have to keep an eye out for these strange billboards, we don't have anything like that in CT! The only thing I remember from driving a few times were the 100's of South of the Border billboards!
Yay for arrviing in Disney! I love seeing the welcome sign all lit up like that! Glad you got your room requests at CBR, even if you were kind of far away! I'm wondering where I'm going to be placed in POR next month, I hope it's not too far away from everything!![]()
It was a rough moment in time. We were not amusedGreat update, I love the picture of you guys waiting outside!
People DON'T get it! That's why I'm happy to be on the Dis, surrounded by people like you guys!I am here to join too. I usually lurk so thought I would post and go back and read. My daughter IheartDduck told me to go and check it out.
We love WDW and tend to be a bit crazy about it. People just don't get it![]()
I'm hopping on board. I did throw my hands up in the air screaming at your introduction btw.
Magnum P.I is the best! We used to watch it constantly when I was younger and we still watch it today. *sigh* Tom Selleck.
I love Gold Peak iced tea. I'm just bummed that Disney doesn't have the diet version for those of us really watching our calorie intake.
That definitely is a superpower, being able to calm down any child in the middle of a meltdown.
Beautiful littles! I love that Julia already knows that you are crazy and embarrassing. And how appropriate that one of Brynn's obsessions is It's A Small World. That's awesome that the mural in her room is the clock thingy!
Sawyer is adorable and sounds like my nephew, who also loves making silly faces. It's always "TeeTee, look!", followed by another crazy face.
Hahahaha, "instructional learning time". Julia sounds like me. I HATED missing school.
Brynn is so right, Atlanta is a city of cars. For real. And they're all idiots.
Thanks, now I have I Wear My Sunglasses at Night stuck in MY head...
I adore CBR, but it is the largest resort! I stayed there last November and man. I just used the car.
Welcome! Happy you're following along!Count me in!! Can't wait to hear more..
Last time I think we were in Martinique 22. I didn't realize how much of a maze the buildings were, and how much time they could add. And I needed my Gold Peak Tea with a quickness, dang it! I'm totally specifying a building next time, though I don't think we're staying at a moderate on the next tripYes. These are my MAIN 2 reasons for going to Disney at all. You can expect more of that in the next TR!
I have to say... you made the dreaded "trip down" update worth reading! I enjoyed it very much. You're lucky that you don't live that far from Disney!
Not to sound lazy, but I hate when I have to walk far at the resort to get to the food/busses/store. It's like ENOUGH with the walking all the time, when I'm at my resort, I wanna chill. I find with the Moderates it's not really enough to specify the section you want, you have to ask for a certain building too. Before we stayed at CBR, I asked (on the Resort board) what buildings would be closest to OPR, and someone let me know the exact buildings and linked me to a map. Building 22 of Martinique was one of the ones I requested and we ended up getting it! Just a tip for next time.
Thumbs up on your children loving and never tiring of Stacey. This means you have done a good job as a mom. Can't wait to read about your first day!
Okay, I had lots to say to you about packing, resort size, etc....I love reading about arrival days, those are the best days because there is so much excitement and anticipation.
We almost stayed at CBR this time, but the size of the resort scared me a little. It looks beautiful though, maybe another time.
I am amazed at your packing ability. AMAZED! I can barely manage to organize my car after a trip to the grocery store without everything toppling over beforeI leave the spot.
I tend to find myself yelling at billboards. The ones around here are normally just local advertisements for things like car dealers, malls, urination issues (oh how I wish I was just being gross there...) but nothing offensive. I've definitely noticed how they differ though. Going from here to my sister's in NC there are a LOT of Disney ones. Going out to my in-laws in Ohio there are a lot of religious ones. And then going to see family in VA there is a stretch where we mostly see adult store billboards. I think our urination issues are easier to explain to a child though, I'll keep it.
Queen, I have always known we were kindred spirits! Tea and overly-organized suitcases...that's perfection right there!Just finished the supper dishes, made myself a cup of tea and low and behold what's the first update I come across....yours!!!
`Outfits were in ziploc bag`....see this is one of many similarities we shareI love a organized suitcase more than....more than.....well right now I can`t think of anything I love more...oh wait, maybe Shanleigh
I love travel day updates! I always think àbout getting there being half the fun...
You have got to get some earmuffs. They make things so much better. Just letting her calm herself like that while having her hands free to be a kid is wonderful!I read this earlier but then my Mi-Fi died and I couldn't respond!
I may have to try the earmuffs for my boys! Casey will often take his hands and cover his own ears when he is over stimulated. And as for the Crew, we have battles like that here. Did you get a GAC for Brynn this trip? Thinking about it when we go down, but I'm not sure if it would really benefit us (I guess it depends on how Casey starts to do with speaking).
And your 1st day down was NOT boring, the anticipation! Oh and I was watching Blue Bloods on Fri night (I know, I am a loser, home on Fri night watching tv)...and thought of you...no, not cause I think you are a loser) but I must say Magnum PI is one of those men who gets better with age!!!! yum!
Can't wait for more!!!!
I am jealous in advance of your Christmas trip!I'm joining in - as a long term lurker on the DIS boards, I'll try to speak up some, but I'm reading along.
I'm from N. Ga as well - and I am SO glad I'm not the only one who has a hang up with the billboards. It is so strange how you start seeing nothing but stripper signs when you get south of Atlanta, and then the immediate change to anti-abortion/religious/vasectomy advertisements as soon as you cross the Florida line.
Your kids are adorable - this trip report will work nicely to keep me going until out trip at Christmas!![]()
HEY! Glad you made it over! Hopefully things will calm down tonight or tomorrow so I can get another update up!YAY YAY YAY....I am here!! Can't wait to hear more.![]()
Here!!!
Hi golden2323 - join us on the December trip thread also, it's really hopping along!... - this trip report will work nicely to keep me going until out trip at Christmas!![]()
It was a rough moment in time. We were not amused! The girls started banging on the window!
People DON'T get it! That's why I'm happy to be on the Dis, surrounded by people like you guys!
Oh, Tom Selleck...be still my heart! That man gets even better with age, too.
See, I didn't even know Disney didn't have the Diet Gold Peak. I have such tunnel vision when I get near the machine that I haven't even bothered looking at what else they have. Dedication.
This house is full of crazy faces and eye rolling! The littles definitely keep me entertained and on my toes!
Let it be known that even though I'm not far north of Atlanta, I DO NOT drive like those crazies. Not at all. But I am great at yelling at them.
Welcome! Happy you're following along!
Last time I think we were in Martinique 22. I didn't realize how much of a maze the buildings were, and how much time they could add. And I needed my Gold Peak Tea with a quickness, dang it! I'm totally specifying a building next time, though I don't think we're staying at a moderate on the next trip.
Glad I can expect more cute animals and men. It wouldn't be a Lia TR without them, really.
Stacey has pretty much been elevated to goddess level in our household, and I encourage it. I have a video of Julia quoting her highness one night when we were in line for BTMRR. I need to find that to post as exhibit A (or B, because I think in the last TR I got a video of Brynn about to go on Test Track...and you know what that means...).
Okay, I had lots to say to you about packing, resort size, etc....
But then I got to "urination issues," and I'm just stuck. Please explain. My imagination is running wild.
Queen, I have always known we were kindred spirits! Tea and overly-organized suitcases...that's perfection right there!
You have got to get some earmuffs. They make things so much better. Just letting her calm herself like that while having her hands free to be a kid is wonderful!
We did get a GAC for her this trip. We never have before, but I will just go ahead and spoil the suspense and tell you that I am not sure how we've ever done a trip without it. We never will be without one again. It doesn't decrease your wait time in most cases, but it DOES decrease anxiety (for all involved) and meltdowns. I will for sure go into more detail on all that.
Tom Selleck has always been and will always be one beautiful man. I'm getting distracted just thinking about it...
I am jealous in advance of your Christmas trip!
I am very guilty of lurking, so don't feel bad or then I'll have to feel bad and we don't want that!
Yeah, as soon as you get south of the perimeter, all billboard heck breaks loose. What is wrong with these people!?!?! Does your area of N. GA have mostly signs about neighborhoods? That's what we've got. And I can personally never afford to live in a neighborhood with an acre pool or beginning in the "low 1 millions."
HEY! Glad you made it over! Hopefully things will calm down tonight or tomorrow so I can get another update up!
I absolutely LOVE that feeling. Knowing you have an entire vacation ahead of you...AHHHHHHHH! I'm here!
Your children are adorable and I love the picture of the girls with their faces in the cut-outs. You're right ~ each one totally matches the character!
Yay for getting to Disney! Driving under those arches for the very first time on vacation is probably one of the best feelings ever!![]()
I love that you packed each outfit in a ziplock bag. I've never done this myself and I think I'm going to for our trip in February!
Looking forward to reading more!![]()
You're not late--we haven't even really gotten started!I'm late but I'm in!
Jill in CO
They're horrible. And besides me hating my kids reading them, I also hate other travelers reading them and thinking that all Georgians are like thatHi Fantasyland Mom
I'm following along, love your updates! We go thru GA too, and totally agree about the billboards.![]()

Yay, another trip report! I enjoyed your last one...love all the pictures!! Cant wait to hear more!![]()
Wow. Just...wow. That was my initial thought. You asked for it! http://www.nj.com/bergen/index.ssf/...llboard_in_fair_lawn_irks_some_residents.html
It's not that bad, but it's a very interesting sign to see while driving to work.
