Island Hopping: A Highly Inappropriate TR. (Boom.)-- Link to NEW TR! 10/8

First of all, before I forget, I'm with Julia, Brynn and Sawyer on the Alien part of the Great Movie Ride. I literally look straight down at my shoes during that part. I love sci-fi movies, but I hate the Alien movies. I just cannot deal with them for some reason. Sooooo, I don't look at anything during that part. Have I mentioned I'm a 30 year old man?

Ok, back to the beginning. Hooray for Star Tours and Muppets! Julia choose some awesome toys.

Yay Rock n' Roller Coaster! I'm a big fan of the ride (not so much a fan or Aerosmith or their *ahem* "acting").

What was going on with the CBR service this time around? Lame all around.

Your arcade prize idea is brilliant! You probably end up saving money, and the kids get a waaaaay better prize!

Also...note to self...pack a poncho and umbrella for our September trip.

One more thing! "My heart tripped over a bench and it is flat." Totally using that from now on. I'm a big fan.
I will be 30 on April 4, so you will no longer be the only 30 year old who will not look at the Alien!:thumbsup2
Yeah, I'm not actually an Aerosmith fan, but to be honest, I wouldn't care which band was involved with the ride--I just love the coaster!
Definitely pack a poncho, but you may not use them at all. This is our first trip where we got more than a quick burst of rain that stopped two seconds later. September for us has always been really, really dry...until this trip. Best to be prepared.
Brynn is gaining a lot of fans lately. She's pretty darn amazing.

Despite the rain it seems like a pretty good afternoon. I love the Por Favor coffee mug! I'm really surprised I haven't bought it yet!! Next trip!!
BUY IT! It makes mornings so much happier, if that's possible.

"Well, then, my heart tripped over a bench and it is flat."

I know exactly how she feels. :)

I must have the Por Favor mug....hopefully they still have them in May!

Jill in CO
I think we've all had that flat heart feeling, right?!

I just have to write about how much I love your trip video. It makes me want to go to Disney NOW! Your family is adorable. My kids are like that too- loud and spilling stuff all the time. Sunday school is not complete unless you have red Kool Aid down the front of you. I just have 2 girls but have often thought if we had a third, it should be a boy. Looking forward to reading about the rest of your trip!
Aww, thank you so much! I just had a flashback to my own Sunday school experience. My mom would dress me so pretty, and then...catastrophe. Always. My kids don't dress up much for a reason.

Dun Dun Duuuuuuuuuuun!

Please tell me you didn't wake up to a wet bed, leaking ceiling or something.

Anyway, you aren't too late with your installment. I would say right on time! I just remembered today! LOL
Nooooo, just more of the same. You'll see.

Hahaha, as Matt explained, Alien is terrifying, and I do not like it on GMR one bit. So he and I are the adults on it hiding our faces as we go through that part, like total goobers.

I love Julia's choice with the Star Wars figures.. MP30!!:thumbsup2 I also enjoy her sassy pose, as well.

Oh man, one thing your TR is reminding me of is the necessity of ponchos when we go in September! It's gonna raiiiiiinnnnn. But I'm okay with that, considering the amount of rain we experienced in Disneyland. I'm just hoping it doesn't rain whatever night we do MNSSHP!

That's an awesome idea with the prizes, it sounds like everyone chose something perfect for them. And OBVIOUSLY I'm a big fan of your choice since I have the same mug. It's the best.

Oh Brynn, she is the cutest. I'm still loving her commenting on our video that Matt and I look "curious"... It's just perfect. Also, I love how much she loves sausage.

Why is there always laundry room drama? Seriously though. When we've tried to do laundry, we always run into people who think it's okay to use ALL of the washer machines for their clothes. It's really great... but I guess I can't complain too much since it's free. :confused3 BUT STILL.

I always get bummed when your updates end, I love 'em!
Pack a poncho for sure, but honestly this is the first trip where we've had more than an occasional afternoon five-minute storm. We have a bag with the same ponchos we got for our first trip because we've never used them much. A quick shower every now and then, done in five minutes. This trip...not so much.
If there is one word to describe Julia, it's sassy! I don't know where she gets it :rolleyes1.
Well, if you thought Brynn was cute, you should have been around for Sawyer's cuteness last night. He was having trouble settling down for the night and came and got in bed with us, sort of talking himself to sleep. While he was barely awake, he was mumbling, "Dani with Goofy, Dani with Pooh, Matt with Duffy..." He wasn't even fully awake, Dani. It was precious. You're in his subconcious.

I am still here and loving your TR! I must say your video is AMAZING! When I was watching it my 20 month old DD sat in my lap watching the entire thing! She usually has an attention span of about 20 seconds so that was pretty awesome! I think she must have a crush of Sawyer LOL! :rotfl2: I told my husband I want a video just like that, what an amazing memory.
Love the report! :)
Oh, awesome!! And Sawyer's a great guy, so she's got good taste !

Yeah, the Alien part of GMR isn't my favorite...but I always make up for it by singing along during the Wizard of Oz scene (I usually feel like I'm the only one singing along when they tell you too, but hey, I'm just listening to instructions here!)

Too bad about all of the rain - it definitely looks like you had a soaked DHS day!!

Glad to hear the situation in your room was eventually resolved...that doesn't sound like it was a fun experience!
Oh, we sang loud and proud!! We do what we're told! Who am I kidding!? We'd be singing even if we weren't instructed to sing!

The cowboy one does exist, we actually had it on our last trip!!! As we were being kidnapped I was giddy and telling my husband I never saw this one. He looked at me and said "there's a different one?" He has gone just as often as me, how does he not know this? I always forget there are scary parts of the ride, probably because I don't find them scary.

Yuck about the plumbing stuff! I don't understand why they didn't change your room, especially if it was smelly. How unmagical!

I love how kids interpret sayings. It melts my heart. :) We once said the batteries in the remote ran out of juice, the next day at the grocery store my son insisted we buy orange juice for the batteries.
WHOA :scared1:. You just blew my mind.
Kids are funny, aren't they? They're my entertainment. Who needs television when you've got comedians living with you??

Yhea!! Two updates!!!

I love the stroller picture where the kids are purposely trying to 'get in each other's space to tick them off'. We live that situation about 1,000 times a day. (not just in the stroller- anywhere..stools, couches, cars, this morning over doughnut breakfast).

Also, LOVE Brynn's comment. I love it because it's so something my Sarah would say. And quite honestly, I think that statement is pretty darn accurate. How many days do we all feel like our heart has tripped over those benches and become flat? Many! So go Brynn!

You know how you said Brynn will 'obsess' on a subject. Sarah too. Her most favorites are dinosaurs and sharks. So her birthday is coming up & she decided on a swim party at our rec center. I say 'oh we could have a nice little dolphin theme' . She says 'no, we can have a shark theme.'. I said.. Sarah- don't you think the other little girls would like dolphins. And quite appropriatly she tells me "I don't care what the other little girls like, it's my birthday and I want sharks!'. OK . So not only does she suffer from social issues that prevent her from making friends easy- she will now be scaring any other little girls away with her 'shark' theme. :rotfl: Da dum. Da dum... JAWS!!!!

Love Julia's souviner pick. Super cool! And love she has them all lined up to watch the computer.

Great update! Thanks for sharing. Can't wait for the next one!!!!
I LOVE THAT!!!!! Brynn is obsessed with all sea creatures. Her birthday theme is Finding Nemo, though, combining sea creature with Disney. We did her other obsession, "it's a small world," for her birthday last year; did you see that in my last TR? The mural now hangs in her bedroom.

Yay for an update! Although I must say, you are turning me off a bit to CBR! Next May, I want to do the Everest 5k and the host resorts are All Star Sports (no desire to stay here), CBR and AKL (I'll be out of DVC points). That plumbing issue is GROSS and it's terrible that they didn't fix it right away. Yuck yuck yuck.
In CBR's defense, we stayed there once before and didn't have a single issue! It really is a relaxing resort...as long as there are no problems! I would most definitely choose it over All Star Sports. Definitely.

Count me in on the group that ignores the Alien part of GMR. But then again, it took me until I was 17 to ride Haunted Mansion with my eyes open all the way through. I still don't like it. GMR has always been a mix for my parents and me. Mom hates the Wizard of Oz, so she'd be perfectly happy if we skipped that scene all together. I feel like the last time we rode it we got the Western scene....or it was a lamer version of the gangster story than I remember. It's been a few years. DHS is always more of a half-day park for us.

Because of this, we've never seen the parade either. I do, however, own the soundtrack to the old "Stars and Motorcars" parade. I actually danced a solo to the first part of it in 8th grade dance class. Thankfully, the video to that has been lost. :rolleyes1

I love arcades. And so does Joe. In fact, when choosing which resort to stay at his first question was "does it have an arcade?" Yes, sweetie, all resorts come with arcades. We just play to compete against each other, so not getting tickets isn't a big deal for us. On one of our very first trips together after we'd only been dating a few weeks, we found a little hole-in-the-wall arcade, and won a whopping 9 tickets. The guy working was nice enough to bump it up to 10, and I chose a ring that had 3 purple beads. I still wear it, and only take it off to shower. It's a reminder that even when plans don't go the way you want (we'd gone to beach for donuts, and the place was closed :worried:) fun can still be had.

I can't BELIEVE Mousekeeping just left your bathroom like that :scared1: We've only stayed at CBR once, and only for I think 3 days because we were doing a split stay. I agree with cfw213...your report isn't making me want to go back. Although I will admit, the pirate rooms look cool. pirate:
 Your arcade prize story is the BEST EVER!!
Yeah, DHS is not my favorite by a long shot. Not at all. And I am a scaredy cat, too, so don't feel bad!!

Sounds like a nice afternoon and evening despite the rain. Awesome resolution with the rain cover. Seems like that company handles things well.

Love the 'prize from the gift shop'. Glad we aren't the only ones who tell those kinds of tales. Maddie still thinks you have to be 5 years old to get into Chuck E Cheese. :lmao:

Laundry on vacation is something I've vowed never to do. I'm going to stick with that based on your experience.
The rain really didn't stop us at all. I'm still glad we got a fitting cover, though!
The first laundry experience was in 2011, and that was due to the terrible circumstances of that trip that I don't want to relive!! This year, it was voluntary. I hate laundry and still have no idea why I did it there!:laundy:

Sounds like a great day but it ended on a stinky note. I hate doing Laundry at Disney, DH usually does it, but he comes back to the room after he starts the machines. On our last trip to CBR he came back to the room and told me he wanted to poke his eyes out. I said why on earth would you want to do that? He said he came around the corner on his way back to our room and there was a man laying in his room completely naked curtains open!

Oh and one morning on that trip we saw a black snake in the landscaping. That resort is very interesting.
:scared1:
And see?? I was right to be scared of the snakes!!!

Brynn and Sawyer don't get along well?

I had no idea you got no ticket when using the voucher! I seem to remember getting tickets, but then again, Ron spent so much of his own money that I could be confused with that.

Yuck @ the toilet issue.
Bahaha! Those kids get along great. Until they don't. They like their space, that's for sure!
It seems like we got tickets the previous year, but not this year??:confused3

I know a lot of people don’t like rainy days at the parks, but I think they are awesome. It lets you see the park in a new way… and it isn’t crowded because everyone runs to take cover.

Row 1 on GMR is the best. Why wouldn’t you want it?!

I truly think the cowboy scene doesn’t exist. They just say it does. I don’t think I have heard one person say they have gottten the cowboy scene.

The picture of the gunfire is AMAZING. Brandon takes amazing photos.

And now I have “We’re off to see the Wizard” stuck in my head.

Mousekeeping is just awful. We have had problems with them before, for instance, we stayed at OKW back in August and our AC was broken and it was oh, you know, just about 80 in our room. Our room got cleaned RIGHT before we got there and they didn’t seem to notice it felt like the sun in there. I’m sorry to hear about the whole toilet issue. That is just nasty.

We usually do laundry at Disney, if we have time that is. And it’s nice because we are DVC members and it is FREEEEEE. One of the only things at Disney that is actually free.
We didn't mind the rain at all, except for the stroller cover thing. I like that it clears out the park because people think they'll melt or something!

Wow what a wet day at HS! Love the intentional sibling annoyance :rotfl2: between Brynn and Sawyer in the stroller and Brynn using Julia's camera :rotfl: I don't know if this makes you feel better or worse, but my sister and I are 18 and 23 now and this never ends! :rotfl2:

Ah I like the Pixar Characters in the HS parade but the song could probably replace It's a Small World in not leaving your brain because of the repetition.

Ew. I can not believe the toilet situation. What on earth. You are a much calmer woman than I because I would've had a fit and requested a new room.

Love the laundry room drama :rotfl: Sounds like it was just one of those nights at CBR!

hahaha I saw the picture you posted of the hidden sausage and love the story that goes with it. Smart girl. She knows what she wants and she's keeping it for herself.

Omg the heart melting story. Too adorable. I love it.

Aw we're dancing to rock and roll is adorable. I feel like I comment with the word adorable a lot on your TRs. Guess your kids are just too adorable! :goodvibes
Awwww! ADORABLE! I don't mind if you say that over and over .

Great update! You have definitely convinced me to NEVER do laundrey at Disney! There is only 2 of us tho so I think we can get away with it. V isn't the problem, it's me :(

Jenn, seriously, every time your kids do something ridiculously adorable, and I think "okay, those children can't get any cuter..." THEY GO AND DO SOMETHING EVEN MORE ADORABLE. Like, I can't even explain how cute that is. I JUST WANT IT TO BE SEPTEMBER NOW!!

Yeah, I think I've convinced myself never to do it again, too :lmao:! I'm not even sure why I did this time! Maybe I was tired of the sweaty smell around the laundry basket??:laundy: I'll tough it out next time.

ME. TOO. :yay:
Another cute anecdote: I was watching your video in our bedroom (I'm a little under the weather today--think I may have caught Sawyer's stomach bug), and Sawyer was downstairs. He somehow heard the music from it and came running up the stairs and into my room and stood there watching and dancing the entire 11 minutes before he even spoke to me:rotfl2:! He's addicted.

I've been a complete lurker and got hooked into your trip reports! Although I missed the one when Sawyer got his first haircut. The link sent me to a youtube video on the Harmony Barbershop?

Anyways, I love how detailed you are! Giving me a lot of tips for our trip in October!

Thank you SO MUCH for reading AND for letting me know that! That was a link to the guy who did his haircut, and the "copy" function must have gotten confused when I was pasting links everywhere! (Or honestly, I probably got confused:rolleyes1 .)
I *think* I fixed it now if you'd like to go back and read :goodvibes.

I just love reading your trip report! Your sense of humor is great and your kids are just awesome! Keep the reports coming!:cheer2:

I just have to say that I'm so glad I stumbled upon your TR! I usually never read them, but for some reason the other I decided to try a few and I'm glad I did! Your family is too cute and I love all the detail you put into your writing! I feel like I'm there! Looking forward to reading about the rest of your trip! popcorn::

Well, THANK YOU for deciding that my lil' old report is worth reading:goodvibes! I'm so happy you're here!

We woke up bright and early Wednesday morning...well, some of us took longer than others. That part of our Disney World Video where I'm poking the girls and saying, "Wakey, wakey!"--that was this morning.

Eventually, Brynn found out we were going to see animals today, so she popped out of bed. And Julia found out that they got new bows to match their dresses, so she was pretty hyped, too!

While I was poking them and video taping them relentlessly, I noticed something. I saw that Julia's eyebrows were suddenly half their normal size. I started questioning her about it. Did you burn them off? Did you find my tweezers and experiment? Was a razor involved?!? She was upset about the whole thing, and after we returned home, we realized that she had a behavior that would continue--trichotillomania, which means she literally pulls out her eyebrows. We're not sure what triggered it, but after observation at school (where I despise her teacher), her counselor noticed that she does it when she is bored (which is a lot since she is so smart) or anxious (which is a lot since her teacher is evil). Nobody really knows about this, except a few thousand Dissers now! She now has fully grown back her right eyebrow, but we still haven't gotten a handle on the left one. She has velcro on the bottom of her desk to fulfill sensory cravings, she has a rock and a blanket square she can use to keep her hands busy, and she puts petroleum jelly on them so they are too slippery to pull. I'll never forget this day because it was the first day of what would become a stressful time of figuring out what was going on.

With new bows in the girls' hair, we headed out. We stopped first by Old Port Royale for one important thing...the breakfast burrito.

It was essential, in fact.

I'd had one on our last day at CBR the last time we were here, and this was the last morning we'd be able to get one. Everyone stayed in the van but me. I filled our mugs with coffee and made people wait behind me at the condiment bar as I filled them to the brim with cream and sugar. Let's face it, Disney coffee is horrible, and covering the taste is about as good as you're going to get. I'm not sure if I mentioned this before, but once while I was in line at OPR, I met a mom and her two kids in line in front of me on their first day at the parks EVER, and they asked me a ton of questions and we talked for a while. This morning, I heard, "HI, Miss Jennifer!" yelled across OPR; it was the little boy from that conversation, and he was so happy to see me! That perked me up and put a smile on my face right away! We briefly talked again and I wished them a magical day as I ran back out to the van with my manna, the breakfast burrito.

We stopped back by Custom House to see if the correct rain cover had showed up, and sure enough, it was there! HOORAY for a cover that fit! Little did we know how much we'd be needing it...Dun Dun DUUUUUUNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally, we were making our way out of CBR and on to Animal Kingdom, smelling up the van along the way with the burrito. Small price to pay. And yes, it would smell just lovely when we got back in the van that afternoon.

NO REGRETS.

Even with all that activity, we were at the gates at 8:45. We had been excited that the illegal path Brandon took us on from the parking lot to the gates last year had now been made into an actual walkway! Of course, I had to hurry ahead because, ya know...I drank coffee, and my bladder is smaller than even a kid's...

I rushed through bag check and the turnstiles ahead of the family, did my business, and was back out just in time to see the rest of them coming in. We stopped and looked at some gross insects and then were allowed into the park a few minutes before actual opening time.

For a while, we were moving along with a throng of people. And then we were pretty much the only family that DIDN'T go to EE or the safari, because we had something more important.

IMG_7493_zps2411353e.jpg

Oh, yes.

IMG_7498_zps140885da.jpg

Dinoland U.S.A.

I never claimed my family was sane or had any taste whatsoever.

You see, Julia watches A LOT of videos---planning videos, YouTube videos, the parks videos on Netflix---and if it exists, she's seen it. Because of this, she gets lots of ideas in her head about what is going to be her must-do ride.

And she was obsessed with riding Primeval Whirl, of all things!

IMG_7527_zpsfc1db2c2.jpg

We'd never ridden it before, and she was determined! The good thing about being here this early was that there was absolutely no one in this area and we hopped right on. By "we," I mean Julia and myself. The other kids were too small, and Brandon would lose his burrito after one spin.

We rode and...SHE LOVED IT! We hadn't even gotten to the unloading area when the CM yelled to ask if we wanted to go again. YES!

I told Little Miss Enthusiasm that this would be our final time, because as okay as I am with going round and round, there's only so much a mama can handle.

After our second ride, we exited (they asked if we wanted to go yet again, and Julia pouted when I told them NO FLIPPIN' WAY!) to find Brandon standing and looking at the ride with his camera poised. He asked if we decided not to ride. Huh?! Turns out he had been waiting to get a picture of us, but somehow missed us coming by on both rides. I promise we rode.

Promise.

He got this picture instead.

IMG_7506_zpse49ad0a6.jpg

Don't they look thrilled to be waiting here instead of hopping on the colorful dinosaurs?

After yesterday, we were kind of scared to leave our strollers uncovered, and there was a dark cloud overhead. We spent some time putting on the fitting (YAY!) rain covers and took some time to dance in the middle of the empty Dinoland before heading over to Triceratop Spin.

IMG_7524_zpsa1a79b4c.jpg

Brynn thought it was a little loud. I didn't even think about it being loud, so I felt a little guilty because the music really was blaring. I think that took away from her experience, but we still had fun doing the obligatory dino ride.

IMG_7508_zps21e74d7e.jpg

They thought they were pretty cool getting to sit "alone" up front!

IMG_7513_zps4c829abc.jpg

But Sawyer wasn't so happy he got stuck with boring old Mom. I don't take it personally. Really.

IMG_7514_zps16e34ca2.jpg

The view...just look at those crowds!

IMG_7519_zps84779bc2.jpg

IMG_7531_zpse9a73024.jpg

Julia got daring. Wild one right here.

IMG_7521_zpsbe4afd30.jpg

And OF COURSE you have to pose with a ginormous dinosaur anytime you come across one!

IMG_7532_zps122d690c.jpg

IMG_7533_zps175e2bac.jpg

We decided to head out of Dinoland, but first the girls took a spin.

IMG_7537_zps7760d9b7.jpg

Scary visions of things to come! I pretend the teenage years aren't going to happen, so this picture scares me.

We also spent some precious park-touring moments looking at ourselves in the silly carnival fun-house mirrors. Obviously being stretched or smushed or widened is the height of hilarity! This would not be our last experience with mirrors of this sort during this trip!

IMG_7541_zpsc234ba7b.jpg

Okay, REALLY now, we were moving on. You know that you're allowed five minutes of extra time for each child, right? That's always my excuse for being late everywhere I go.

Where were we going? I'll give you a hint...

IMG_7545_zpsaaa0598e.jpg

IMG_7547_zpsd8057aeb.jpg

We were headed to Asia, of course, where Expedition Everest was waiting! There was absolutely no wait time at all, so Julia and I just walked straight through the queue. I took video during it and loved it as usual.

Julia? Not so much. Even though she has ridden it multiple times. Even though she had been insisting she was going to ride it with both of us and then maybe want to ride it again. Even though she had been bragging about this ride for the past year.

She was done. To be honest, I'm not sure she'll even have the guts to do it on our next trip. Children get MORE scared with age?? Huh? Maybe that's just logic kicking in...I mean, is it logical to put yourself through a trip through a mountain with an angry yeti who tears up the track and pushes you back down the mountain in reverse? Not really. Maybe she's a pretty smart girl.

When we were done with our ride, Brandon hopped right into the line, but unlike the two speedy gals, he stopped along the way to take pictures. Oh! So THIS is what it looks like!

IMG_7571_zpsff47a44f.jpg

IMG_7572_zps66bb8061.jpg

IMG_7576_zps1cc021a0.jpg

And he also braved the mountain with his camera in tow. He'd better be happy he didn't drop that thing, because he'd really, really have to be brave to face me after that.

IMG_7588_zps4b32381c.jpg

IMG_7592_zps172d5438.jpg

IMG_7596_zpsa8128874.jpg

I'm pretty sure if you look closely enough, there's probably some note that says, "Yeti wuz here."

During his trip to the top of Everest, I took all three kids for a quick potty break, and then Brynn and Julia just climbed around for a bit. Animal Kingdom had them feeling like monkeys!

IMG_7602_zpsce936c6d.jpg

And since we were in Animal Kingdom and surrounded by our own wild kids, we thought we might just go and see some real live animals...anybody in??

Animal Kingdom day! And foreshadowing! It's doubly ominous, since AK is the worst park to be in during a rain storm. Uh oh!

I'm actually similar to Julia in terms of needing some kind of tactile feedback when bored or nervous. My desk at work is littered with things to keep my hands busy, as otherwise I'll crack my knuckles or tug at my beard non stop. Luckily, there is a booming industry producing things for exactly that purpose.

We really need to explore Dinoland more. We didn't see it at all during out honeymoon or 2012 trip, but actually visited it and went on Dinosaur a couple of times this past trip. Looks like we'll have to try Primeval Whirl!

You know how we feel about EE. And I was the same way as Julia growing up. I would go on rides one year, love them, then go on them again the next year and be terrified. I think you're exactly right, in that you become old enough to realize what COULD happen in a worst case scenario, annnnd then it's terrifying.

Brandon got some beautiful shots! I love the views from EE.

And now, I'm off to watch your video yet again. :)

Longtime lurker here! Had to post since I just watched your video and it's magic! You've made me laugh more times than I can count. Thanks for writing!

Oh that must have been so stressful to figure out with Julia! I feel her pain. I have a similar problem with picking at the ends of my hair in stressful or boring situations! It becomes like a compulsion- I know I shouldn't do it and I know it's harmful to my hair but I just can't stop. So I most definitely feel her pain and you guys are totally awesome parents for doing so much to help her! :goodvibes

I love that you guys ran to Dinoland. I love EE and the Safari but I think Dinoland is awesome. I know a lot of people hate it or whatnot but I think it's themed so cute. And your pictures are, of course, adorable as always!

Aw Julia is probably smart to not want to go on EE anymore :rotfl:

Can't wait to hear what other rainy adventures are in store!

I love love love love LOVE Primeval Whirl!!!! The spinning just makes me giggle. We were able to ride it twice in a row the last time we were there too! My parents don't like the jolting stop at the end however, so we also called it quits after 2 times. But I could ride it all day long.

Your eyebrow story reminds me of Raising Hope. I don't know if you watch that show or not, but the main character eats his eyebrows when he's nervous. I know it's not exactly the same thing....but it's funny in the show. Probably not so funny in real life, so I'm sorry you have to deal with that.

Great update Jenn! Beautiful photos as usual. :goodvibes

I love that you guys ran to Dinoland! We've yet to make it there-ever- maybe this trip. Maddie is also really into the youtube videos, but she's got her heart set on Space Mt. :confused3 I'm not sure why the kid who's scared of dark rides wants to ride it (I blame Stacey), but ride it we will. I'm glad that Julia enjoyed her ride.

I'm so glad that you got the eyebrow thing figured out. That would have really scared me. You're such a good momma :goodvibes

I'm happy to see the sun! We've only been to AK once and I went without a plan and we missed quite a bit. This year I'm prepared and looking forward to it, especially Everest! Of all the beautiful pics, I like the one of the girls in the pink care, so sweet!

I've been a little bit behind over here but I'm alllll caught up now. :woohoo:

Yall have had such a great trip so far! Well, besides the CBR toilet issues. What on earth?

I know a couple of people that have the same thing Julia has, and they have been able to kick it. It sounds like she's been doing great. I honestly have a similar problem... not plucking my hairs but my hands always need to be busy. This will sound like the strangest thing ever, but I roll up little pieces of paper to keep them busy. Not just paper either, just whatever I can roll between my fingers helps me! Yes, I'm officially a weirdo, but I'm okay with that.

Brandon's pictures continue to amaze me!

I love how you guys do things unconventionally. I love Primeval Whirl, but I don't know if my old age :rotfl2: would have let me go on it more than twice in a row.

Glad to hear that Julia is doing better with items to preoccupy her hands! :goodvibes

Sounds like a fun AK morning!! We've actually never been to Dinoland, can you believe it??
