Is Zeke back at Whispering Canyon?

Who is "Zeke" in the Travel Channel special? I have that show TIVOed and I know who "the kid" is, and we had Frank (the guy who does the animal calls. lol) as our server this past summer. Now I'm going to have to go back and see what other male server is in the show! Sorry to hear he passed away, whoever he is :(

EDITED TO ADD:

Ok, just had to fast forward through the special to see the part with WCC in it. Is Zeke the older man who walks by banging the tray stand on the floor? Or is he the server who keeps yelling for more ketchup? :) Whoever he is/was, I'm sorry to hear of his passing :(

Suzanne - you're getting rave reviews on this board - we'll be at WCC for dinner on Sept. 30th - our first night! Will you be working?

PS - I love "Hedda Lettuce" :rotfl:

I should be there on the 30th. Hope to see you then.

Sorry SeaSpray...I haven't seen the special on the Travel channel in a long time. He always wore a leather vest with a marshall badge on it.

I am SO SAD now.... :guilty: . But thanks Suzanne for finding out for us. He was great and we heard last year that a nasty customer got the better of him and he quit. If you eat at a place like WCC, you just have to "go with the flow" and not get offended, right?

We took my dad a few years back and had Zeke for the first time (dad was in his late 70's at the time) and he had asked for a drink refill.... well, a bit later when he hadn't gotten his refill he flagged Zeke down to remind him. Zeke quite LOUDLY told him he had a lot more customers than just dad!! He told Dad "it's not all about YOU!!!". We still tell Dad all the time, "it's not all about you!"

Was Zeke the one that kind of looked like Alton Brown from the Food Network?

I work dinner only. I don't know most of the breakfast/lunch servers as they are all gone by the time the dinner servers come in. I do know Cousin Bridget, Hickory and Higgins. Ask for any of them when you get to the podium, they are all very good!

Thanks! We've had Cousin Bridget before and she's a HOOT! We asked for her again last time, but she wasn't there - good to know some other good servers! (and we'll definitely ask for heda lettuce, too!)

My family will be arriving at WL 11/27 Sunday and will be having dinner that night at WCC. Two girls (6 and 2) first time Disney and we're using WCC to introduce them to the magic. Heh.

Suzanne,

I hope you are working on Sunday, Dec 4! My friends who also have BBG triplets (age 5) and my crew all have ADRs at 6pm. I sure hope to meet you. Should be fun with 2 sets of 5 year old triplets running around!

We will be looking for you when we come in for Dinner!

we love higgins at breakfast! always ask for him.....but last trip we had debbie and she was great too. :earboy2:

We had Albert for breakfast last week and he was a riot!! I would ask for him again, he made that meal a very memorable experience...he really picked on my sister! Her kids, of course, thought it was hysterical that their mom was getting yelled at for having her elbows on the table. :rotfl2: We had a blast with Albert, it was the best meal of the whole trip! :cheer2:

I have a mixed review of my experience at Whispering Canyon last week. We were there for over 3 hours. We were a large party of 16, and our ADR was at 8:30pm. We were seated at two different table areas and had 2 different servers. The "adult" table had a cute little blonde server with a very high pitched voice. She was really good and funny too. The server at my table..2 adults and 6 kids....was much more sublime and not very outrageous or funny at all. We were quite disappointed. It took over an hour to get our main dishes to the table, and then 45 minutes longer to get the check settled. We were supposed to celebratemy nephew's 10th birthday. Unfortunately, all of the kids were so tired, we went ahead and told them not to bother since it was already 11:30 and we had to get back to Pop Century from the Wilderness Lodge.

Now, on the flip side. I kept noticing one really outrageous male waiter...my kids said his name was BJ. I didn't see his name tag. However, he was hilarious. When a baby would cry...he would cry or yell louder. When our dinner was almost over, my daughter looked at me with that "I'm about to throw up" look. I grabbed a napkin and headed towards the bathroom. Well, "BJ" started yelling for me to go out a side door. Within a couple of minutes, he was out there with a glass of ice water and a wet towel that he put on her neck. He stayed out there with us the whole time. I was so impressed. While out there, he kept his sense of humor by writing "Help me" on the window. He even sent us on our way with stuff to help us out if she got sick on the way back to our resort. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to formally thank him in all of the chaos. Therefore, Hedda Lettuce, if you know to which cast member I'm referring, would you please tell him that Peyton and her mom really appreciate everything he did to help us out that night. One final thing, the manager of the restaurant took my family back to our resort in the Wilderness Lodge SUV. They went out of their way to make a "not so great" evening something that we'll remember. BTW, they also sent a cake and balloons to my nephew the following day.

Suzannnews,

We'll be there for dinner on Sunday, 12/4 at 5:30pm. 2 sets of triplets! Hope to meet you!
