Mine definitely is not. That is until I met and fell in love with him, of course;) I ALWAYS went for the tall, dark and handsome type. Being italian myself, I was naturally attracted to european looking types, but my DH (who is gorgeous) is blonde haired, blue eyed and only about 5'8". Go figure.
So how 'bout you? Did you end up with your "type"?

Nope; I go for the nerdy, intellectual type. Always have. But my current SO is kind of a jock type. Definitely not a nerd!

No, which is probably why we're not together anymore. My "type" is tall, well-built and caucasian. Exh is short, filippino and chubby (I'm being nice when I say that). As for personality, we didn't fit together well that way either. He's quiet and boring. I'm a loudmouth and always on the go.

I always thought my type was tall, blonde hair, blue eyes.

DH is not terribly tall, dark hair, brown eyes - I am embarassed to say he looks a lot like my father.

Denae :sunny:

I've been seeing this guy who's blond, blue-eyed, 6'9", 265. Delish. :)
He forces me to rethink my former preference for dark hair, dark eyes, though I've always liked guys really, really big. I think it's because I'm 5'3".
(once again, my tag resonates. :) )

LOL. Hmmmm:scratchin I wonder what that means?????

I completely ended up with my "type". I love guys with dark hair, dark eyes(and DH has both) (or blue eyes even, just depends on the "look").

Although, DH and I aren't doing too well right now, so maybe my "type" isn't the best choice :(

Not when I met him. Although I like them tall, he was skinny as a rail (I always liked more muscular men), but after finding out how funny and inteligent, kind and gentle he is I was hooked and the muscles didn't matter. 29 years later and I'm still hooked.

Yep...he's just my type. Tall, strong but not overly muscular, handsome, and has an English accent!

For the most part, he is extremely close to "my type" I always dated "within and out of my type" but he's one of the closest I've ever come to doing so. I like them tall (6' give or take a couple inches, and me being 5'ish makes this easy to find), dark, and more of a slender build (not necessarily skinny, but bone structure beneath the skin ;)). He isn't quite as slender as I usually went for, but everything else... quite perfect.

Personality wise, he's pretty close as well. I usually like a bit more of a talker, but my friends keep me chatting the way I like ;) He's a good mix of "macho" and "sensitive" and loves music almost as much as me. Those were the types I really liked (and personality wise, pretty much *always* what I dated)

He definitely won't be the great love of my life, but he's really cute when he kisses the top of my head. Which he can do when we're both standing. Ha.

I always thought tall, blonde surfers were my type (I DID grow up in FL), but I guess I was wrong! See/read my signature! LOL, DH was the first man not blonde I ever dated (he does have the blue eyes like Remy though). He is also the exact same height as I am. Personality wise I am a tad bit domineering and the definite Alpha in our house. I think it is because he is gone so much (in the past three years he has been home just under 9 mos total) and has NO CLUE what bills we have, what our current address is (he actually has a paper with him that I wrote it on), and just kind of wanders in a military induced daze (he NEVER forgets anything to do with the his job, but he can't remember our address?!). I also talk way more and "force" him to leave the house on family outings (according to him anyways  ). But he does admit he would never have any fun without me and would just go to work and sleep (we definitely can't have that, can we)! I gotta tell you though I simply ADORE the man, no matter what my "type" used to be!

Yeah, he's pretty much my type physically. As for personality, we are extreme opposites, but it works. We'll be together for 11 years next month. I guess opposites really do attract.

My DH and I are complete "opposites", but we compliment each other very well and as a unit we just click. I did marry my type as he is tall, dark and handsome. I'm just crazy about him!

No he isn't, which just goes to prove that opposites attract! My type is short, stocky, dark hair and eyes. DH is 6'2, skinny, red hair and hazel eyes.

And I adore him!!!!!

My last serious boyfriend before DH was a semi-pro french Canadian Hockey Player with lots of Dark Brown hair and a great body.

I never liked the blonde hair, blue eyes type and I NEEDED hair on a man...

When I met DH, I fell hard...He's blonde (balding), english Canadian and blues eyes and I love every inch of him...He's perfect. One thing is, he looks nothing like anyone else I dated so HE'S UNIQUE!!!

I know I married my soul-mate because he tells me I'm beautiful everyday and cooks for me too...Thank goodness I could see past my "type" to see him...

:lovestruc  :cloud9:

My DH & I are complete opposites, too......but somehow we work. He is not that tall (under 6') and has been overweight since I met him. He keeps me grounded 'cause I can get more emotional than he does.....but, sometimes, he is so deadpan I get frustrated. I have a high school education and he has 2 degrees! He is a 'Type A' personality and will work himself into physical exhaustion and I am so low key that they can barely find my blood pressure reading!! But, we have been married for almost 18 years and have 2 great kids.....go figure!

These responses are quite interesting. And I do think it's true that opposites attract, eh?
