Is Your Homeowners Insurance Paid For From Escrow...?

None of the three lenders I used would allow insurance to be paid from escrow, just property taxes. Of course the property taxes are about 3 times as much as the homeowners insurance per year.

Our insurance and taxes are paid from our escrow account but it never fails that every year we have to send a copy of the bill to the mortgage company because they never get a copy. Once they get a bill they make the payment right away tho.

And phew, I'm glad you said that. I was sitting here thinking "hmm, I don't remember paying the insurance premiums recently, wonder when they are due...did I miss something?" Nothing like a real brain freeze! We used to pay homeowners and car insurance every six months but when I switched to a new company a couple of years ago, I arranged to have it auto-drafted out of my savings account each month! How could I totally blank on that??

We pay both homeowner's and taxes dirrectly. I'm an accountant and anal about such things. I know when and how it is paid and that nothing has been "overlooked".
