The front of our home faces almost directly west.
Our garage, a front bedroom and our entry face that direction. We have 2 relatively large oak trees in the front yard that shade us from the setting sun in the west.
Our living room, kitchen, dining and master bedroom face the early morning sun coming up in the almost direct east, and we like it that way…!!!

We designed it this way:

Window placements, East for (Sun up) Dawn. West for (Sun sets) Dusk.
South and North have the least windows, with Sun damage inside, and Nor' Easter's in mind.
