Is your credit card charged now or at check in when you book a package?

I know when we went 5 yrs ago, our card was not charged until we checked in, but I am thinking that has changed. If I use a credit card, when will I see the charge? Also, what are the other ways you can pay for your room? Do they still have a plan where you can plan along? Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

If you book a package you will need to make a $200.00 deposit. Final payment will be due 45 days from departure.

then they charge $200 at time of booking and automatically put the balance on the card 45 days prior to checkin? Or do I have to call prior to checkin and have it charged then? We just thought it would be easier to just put it on our card and pay it all off at one time when we get back. Believe me, my husband would not let it go past 30 days with any interest!

You have to call on or before your 45 day mark and pay the balance, as Disney will not automatically charge the balance. But as ToyStory said, only a $200 deposit is required at the time of booking for a package (which is charged right away), with the balance due 45 days prior to arrival. But if you book your trip 45 days or less before you plan to arrive, the entire amount is due at time of booking.

You can apply for a Disney Visa if you don't already have one. This will give you the benefit of 6 mo. interest free for payoff. Nice perk, plus you get discounts on purchases while you are on vacation.

You can also make the payment online. Just log into the WDW site, click on "My Vacation", and pull up your reservation.

You can pay your $200 deposit by check or credit card if you wish. They will give you 14 days after booking to do so. You also can make your final payment by check 45+ days before check in. If you do a room only, you are only responsible for 1nt. deposit within 14 days. Payment for that is due @ check in.
