Is VGF the best deal for direct purchase SAP now?

After looking around and trying to help a friend decide what points he wants to buy, I cant help but think that VGF are the best direct SAP points now. Good price, lowest dues, 11mo priority booking at one of the hardest places to get if you wanted to stay there. The only real downside I see to them is the lack of 2021 points you don't get when you buy direct. But compared to SSR, OKW, which always have been the typical SAP value, these seems like for the extra $7 ( without incentives) that these would be the best value. Plus I would think that long term they would also hold their value the best being a monorail resort and right next to MK. Thoughts?

I think with SSR and OKW being $200 now, it kind of makes VGF make a lot more sense for SAP. The savings on the properties that used to be cheap (relatively speaking) are pretty minuscule now.

In my selfish self interest...... Yes, please lots of folks by VGF for SAP!!!! That will help VGF availability for non owners. The more use your VGF points elsewhere, the more VGF rooms will be available for my cheap old SAP's. (wink wink)

My pick for SAP right now would be BLT or Poly resale. But SSR resale isn't far off, even with the recent price increases.

If you're buying SAP, who cares what the 11 month advantage is. But if you do, BLT has a real chart advantage over VGF.

I bought VGF recently with the SAP idea as part of the consideration.

I love VGF at a a baseline and wanted a direct purchase. I certainly won’t be upset to stay at VGF if a 7-month alternative option of my choosing isn’t available. The point charts are higher for stays at VGF, but the contract length is good, the maintenance fees are reasonable, and the direct pricing for DVC owners was excellent (my opinion).

It’s probably not the typical choice for SAP, and many have commented on the unknown booking availability at VGF for rooms other than studios as the new allotment of points sells out. Specifically, I like 2-bedroom options and some have speculated that the influx of points at VGF will make these more difficult to book even at 11 months.

The last time I purchased a DVC contract was in 2018. I had about 50 k to play with. I ended up getting two resale contracts at BLT. 340 points total. Points rent at a premium and the contract has a nice long life. I'll be in my 80s by the time it expires. I get one bedrooms and usually stay in October.

The general rule is to buy where you want to stay. Given the premium cost of Beach Club in Boardwalk right now and it shortened contract, I would not advise buying a resale there. I'm not a fan of Polys studios only. Stayed at Grand Floridian once. Pretty but dont like the views. Riviera seems woefully overpriced.

Saratoga would give you the most points but they don't rent for a premium.
