Our Kids will be 8&6 when we go. We stayed poly concierge last year partially because of the convenience factor. Next year we want to try Yacht club because our friends just love it . But does transportation become a pain?

Considering that you can walk or take a boat to both Epcot and the Disney Studios I'd say absolutely not. We love the convenience of the Epcot resorts. We've had no experience with the buses at the YC, but the easy access to two parks has to make up for any issues you might find getting to the MK or AK.

Depends where you are going. We liked that we were closer to two parks Epcot and mgm. Rather than just MK at the poly.
We could walk over to epcot or take the very short boat ride to mgm. We could walk or take the boat to the boardwalk in the evenings which was very nice.
You do have to take the bus to MK and AK, we don't enjoy the disney buses so we would walk thru epcot and take the monorail from there to MK. We always stay in this area I like the feel of the area with the boats and the boardwalk etc.

We shared bus transportation with Swan/Dolphin/Yacht/Beach Club, and it took forever to get anywhere else besides MGM and
Epcot. There was five bus stops sharing a bus, I thought for what
everyone spends staying at any of these resorts they should
have their own bus, or share with 1 other property, but 5 was way to many. I enjoyed my stay at the BW, and we love the Beach Club, but probably would not stay there unless we had
a car because of the bad bus service.

We've always found it to be fine, especially being so close to two parks. We spend a lot of time in Epcot, taking advantage of the food and show offerings. My youngest, who was 6, 7 and 8 when we stayed there loves Epcot.

I didn't find the bus service to be as bad as others have said. We did have to share buses with other Resorts. After you are picked up they stop at BC and then BW which only takes an extra few minutes. Coming back you stop at the Swan and then the Dolphin, again an extra few minutes. The wonderful location of being able to walk to Epcot or catch a boat to MGM FAR outweighs those extra few minutes...

For a deluxe the bus service is not the best for reasons mentioned above but nothing you can't live with.

We stayed at YC in Jan. and love the Epcot resorts because you can walk. We had a 10YO DN with us last time. You share the buses with the other Epcot resorts which can make them crowded at times. The only problem we had was the very first morning going to AK, we waited for a bus for 45mins. For the rest of the trip the bus service was great.

We love staying at the Yacht Club because of its central location. As several others mentioned you can walk to both mgm and epcot (as well as the boardwalk) which is a great convenience. Last time we were there my DS was almost 7 and my DD was 18 mts. (I was pregnant with DD#2) - we had no problems with the buses and did not feel that the stops were excessive. We brought our own stroller and just collapsed it and carried it on the busses with us. We are going back to YC in ~4 weeks and can't wait!!

My opinion is: great service to MGM by boat
great service to Epcot by boat or walking

Any service by bus: pitiful Expect many stops and long waits if going anywhere by bus, and maybe you'll get lucky and be pleasantly surprised

I thought the Epcot area bus service was pretty good, considering. They do increase the number of buses during busy times. If you don't want to stay on the bus through all the stops, get off at the Swan and walk back to the Yacht Club. I think you can go through the Boardwalk, or even take a boat from the Swan or Boardwalk.:moped:
