Is Three Broomsticks THE place to eat??

While visiting US we ate at Richter's Burger Co. and we were less than thrilled. The prices well, were insane even for theme parks. The food was medicore at best and the service was meh. When we visit the park again we definitely won't eat there again.

I'm not a fan of the place myself.

While at IOA/US we ate twice in the park. On Christmas day while in IOA we went to Three Broomsticks for lunch; more because our family are HP fans and honestly I was not expecting much. I was also expecting to be MASSIVELY over charged. I was wrong. The food was well priced, and actually reasonably good. This is a theme park after all... The atmosphere was fantastic, and the service was excellent. However; if you are not HP fans then you probably should skip it.

I don't mind either. I've had some normal park fare burgers at Richter's. I don't find their prices bad at all. $7.79 for a cheeseburger combo including fries isn't that bad---no different than Disney and maybe cheaper.

I didn't think the 3 Broomsticks looked all that appealing..
For Cs at Universal Studios- Louies gets good reviews
at IOA- Thunder Falls Terrace in Jurassic park
For TS meals- MYthos at IOA is awesome'
In US, there are 2 TS places. We ate at Lombards and thought it was MEH.Not sure how good Finnegans is

I actually thought Three Broomsticks was the best counter service Ive had from all the theme parks and I am not a HP fan. I had a chicken salad and my son had the chicken drumsticks and it was very good. I wouldn't call it THE place to eat though. It's counter service. But I would highly recommend it.

Mythos is table service and it's VERY good. I don't know that I would call it the best table service of all the theme parks in Orlando, but it's pretty amazing for the price. The price is roughly the same as eating at an Outback but the food is more upscale (risottos, etc). Between US and IOA, I would say this is THE place to eat. You will need to make an early reservation though. It closes fairly early due to theme park hours.

ETA: I posted some pics from Mythos and Three Broomsticks once. You can see them here.

THE place to eat? Good God, no! The food ranges from blah to mediocre. Aja's post is wise -- stop in, look around, maybe have a butterbeer... but do your eating elsewhere.

I agree! And we had to wait 45 minutes to get our food - they were sooooo slow! Plus it is expensive for what you get. (We ate breakfast there.)

We enjoy the theme as much as anything but find it to be okay. Also, you get a AAA discount there. :thumbsup2

ETA: The shadows of the house elves is a nice touch. :)

To be fair, breakfast is the worst meal there. The food gets a little better as the day goes on... not great, but better than the breakfast, which is maybe a step above McDonald's.

I guess we're just not super huge HP people - we'll have to bone up before we go. Some of this is sounds like a foreign language to me!! Definitely not going to worry over going to the three broomsticks tho. THANKS!! :goodvibes
