I read on another thread that with the dining plan there is no distinction between children and adult counter service credits. Is this true?! Our little guy can't be on the dining plan since he's only 2, so it would be very helpful if my two boys could just share an adult size meal when we eat at a counter service location. Plus, the kids meals at most counter service locations are pretty crappy food that is mostly packaged.

Most of your questions are answered in this sticky.

WDW doesn't track adult vs. child CS credits separately because there are still a limited number of CS locations that don't offer a kid's menu. However, note that child credits are intended to be used for child meals.

Also note that if you're traveling with 2 adults and 2 children (as noted on your KTTW card), you cannot get more than 2 adult meals (or 2 child meals, for that matter) at any one time.

The reason I brought this up in the first place was because Starring Rolls only offers children a packaged PB&J, packaged fruit, and packaged cookie... packaged everything. I don't think that is an appropriate meal for my son(s). Although, looking at the sandwiches from Starring Rolls all 4 of us could probably be full from just 2 sandwiches with leftovers.

It might also be possible to order extra buns/bread OOP or using snack credits and make those 2 into 4 sandwiches.

If I got one of those sandwiches, a cupcake and a drink...I could easily share with my 5 year old son (he would most likely just eat some meat off my sandwich and some cupcake frosting...maybe that isn't appropriate, but it is vacation )

Why is packaged fruit not appropriate? Grapes are still grapes?

It often turns out that the CS locations with the nicer adult selections have the most basic options for the kids. To get around this at Starring Rolls you could get your adult meals from there, grab a few boxes, pack it and head off with your food to where your kids want to eat. Then just enjoy it there. We hve done this before and it works fine. Sometimes we just want food from different places. Starring Rolls sandwiches are cold so your meal won't be spoilt by taking it elsewhere and eating a little later.

The sandwiches at Starring Rolls are huge!! DD(adult) and I regularly split a CS meal here. Actually DD and I split ALL our CS meals. They are almost always too big for one to eat alone and not be stuffed. So we split one for breakfast, one for lunch and then get our own TS meal. And we love the packaged apple slices to munch later so the pkgd fruit is actually pretty good. And I see nothing wrong with pkgd PB&J if your child likes BP&J. For some, its all their kids will eat. Not suggesting you necessarily feed it to your sons every day, every meal but would think it perfectly fine for A meal.

You are only able to order the number of adult CS meals that are listed on your card. For example, it sounds like your card would say 2A 1C. This is PER TRANSACTION. So, say you go to another counter service place, you would be able to order another 2 adult CS meals. The CS credits aren't tracked adult/child overall. But the CM might limit you to 2A and 1C PER ORDER.

I was going to ask about this. We will have the DDP when we go to Disney in Nov. DD is not a big eater and so I was planning to share some of my CS meals with her. By doing this, she will not be using her CS credit. So if we have an extra CS credit, can my DH use that credit to get an adult CS meal for breakfast?

According to the guidelines, you need to use kids CS credits for children's meals where applicable. It is up to you to keep track and it is on the honor system.
