OK I posted this over on the dining board, but thought I would try here.

I booked WL with 40% code that came out. Tonight I just tried to add DDP and I was told i cannot do this. It was either the 40% or the DDP, because the DDP is a 30-40% discount in itself.

Is this true?? I decided to post this here because I noticed another person posted they used the 40% and were on the basic dining plan. So I guess I want to know if others have had luck, or maybe when you added the plan, you are no longer getting the room rate.

And I only say that because she said ok I am checking on that right now and I said ok and thats still the 40% code right? And she said oh no, its one or the other.

Any help out there?

I booked three rooms at AKL yesterday using my 40% off code ... I was able to add a one day MYW base ticket and the DDP without any problems at all. The reservationist did ask me up front if I wanted tickets or a dining package (after she verified my code and asked for my dates but before she asked for my resort choice) ... it seemed like she was entering those components first before the rooms. You won't get the 40% on the ticket or DDP, the code only applies to the room rate.

Call back and speak to another CM ... some are more knowledgeable than others.

(I had done the math beforehand and knew that I still was getting the discounted room rate.)

I believe that in order to get either the Basic Dining Plan or the Deluxe Dining Plan with a code you need to add a minimum of 1 day Base Ticket to everyone in your party...You then should be able to add Deluxe or Basic Dining(Your Choice)...

Thank you...just tried , they are closed. Dang nabit. I am aware the 40% is only the room rate...and I am perfectly happy with that.

This is so frustrating...my 180 is tomorrow, so I will be calling for that and trying to add the plan on...man oh man...

oh and the ticket...I was getting a 4 day park hopper...thats not the problem is it???

I used a 40% off code and have myw tickets + dining on my package. You do not need dining however to make 180 ADRs.

Do you have these tix already, or were they included with your room package? Have you paid in full for them?
I ask only because you do need to have some type of ticket with a Magic Your Way plus dining package. Even if, as another poster has already stated, it is a 1-day ticket. (Unfortunately, this is costly, and will eat up a portion of your 40% savings.)

A 40% code was attached to our name when I called this evening and I was able to book the Beach Club with the basic dining plan, but Sylvester (cm) said I could choose several different dining options along with my 40% code. I just wanted the basic dining plan. I would definitely call back!

We have the 40% off discount and the dining plan. So does a friend (who, coincidentally, also got the 40% PIN.) We're at the Poly and she's at POR.

It can be done!!

I did call back this morning and the cm said no problem, lets see what we can do. The category room I already had was not available, but a call to guest relations solved the problem.
So Renee was very helpful, kept my 40%, got my tickets and the dining plan. And she kept saying how great of a deal it is with the 40% off the room and the additional 30-40% off the dining. So apparently it is ok to do.
So thanks everyone for telling me to call back, I appreciate it...now a whole new problem, DH said you plan everything is now wondering if I should have made the trip longer!!

We got the dining plan with ours too.

I think the 40% off deal has to be booked by March 31st and the mailer had a specific week for each month you could use it.

January 06th to 17th
January 20th to 31st
February 24th to March 5th
March 30th to April 8th
August 10th to September 27th
October 19th to November 1st
November 9th to November 15th
December 7th to December 17th

I am very frustrated and wonder if anyone can offer me advice. How do you get the 40% pin code? We have gone to Disney every year for the past 6 years, sometimes even twice a year and never seem to get any offer for discounts.

Do you have your email registered with them? We were getting pin codes for a while, then they dropped off. We recently ordered (about 4 months ago) the vacation planning DVD and since then we have gotten 2 pin codes via email. I hope you snag a pin code soon! I am positive that the pin codes were due to the vacation DVD due to the fact that the pin codes were sent to my email in my mother's name, (I ordered the DVD's in her name but with my email).

My guess is that because you've come back as a regular customer without any discounts, they figure they've got you hooked.

In my case, it's been a few years since we stayed on property after a couple of years of regular stays. Maybe they use the codes to tempt you into coming back...?

p.s. don't tell anyone, but the only reason we didn't go back to the world this last year was because we were on the 3-day Nassau Disney cruise!

If you are not asking for the free dining program to be added to your 40%discount then Disney can do this. It when you ask for the free dining along with the 40% code that they won't let you. When are you going? Maybe the CM thought you were trying to double book But you should be able to book the DDP, I did when I got a bounceback code when I was down this past May, I was able to add the DDP. You want to call back & talk to another CM or speak to their supervisor. I think the problem lies with Disney's CM thinking you wanted both if you are going down during the free dining period. I think they got some new CM who doesn't really know alot about things at times. But call back & good luck.

I have this pin code too with the same dates. My question is, I would only be able to arrive on November 14th. Will I still get the code if staying Nov 14 through Nov 21?? My DS has three days off from school that week so I if I could get the 40% off, we will go!!
I just remember in the past if you arrived within the dates of the pin offer, you would be able to get the discount for length of stay, just wondering if now, it is the same??
