Is this too much or just right?

Hi, I just registered here.

We are going to WDW in late Sept. It's our first trip. Well I went when I was 15, but don't remember much. We have 2 kids - our daughter is turning 4 while we are there and our son is 5.

We have planned 6 nights at Port Orleans Riverside with the 4 day Magic Your Way with Park Hopper. (One day at Sea World, one full day traveling to Orlando). The last 4 nights will be spent on the Disney Wonder cruising the Bahamas!

So 10 nights total - 6 on land, 4 at sea.

Is this too much with young kids? Or is it about right?

We are planning midday breaks.
We are dedicating 2 full days to MK, and the other 2 days will be covering MGM, AK, and then just doing dinner (Spoodles), Turtle Talk, and Illuminations at Epcot - and that's all for Epcot because our kids are young enough that it would likely be the least appealing park for them and we know we can't see 4 entire parks in 4 days unless we do it commando style, which will not work with 2 young kids!

We are renting a car too and just dropping it off at Port Canaveral - then using towncar service from port back to airport.

Is this a good plan?

:thumbsup2 Sounds like a great trip to me. When my kids where smaller I just always reminded myself to relax and take the day as it comes. If we don't do it today....there is always tomorrow or the next trip. Have a safe and fun holiday.

Sounds good to me. We have 3 kids 11, 8 and 6 and we spent 2 days driving, 5 days in Disney (4 in the park) and then 2 days driving home. They would have been ready to stay there longer in a heartbeat. And we never took breaks- we stayed from open to close on most days!

A few years ago for Christmas we did a week stay at BC and then a four day cruise on DCL. Our kids were a bit older, but it was a wonderful experience. If we were to do it again, I'd definitely break it up, but that is just personal choice. There was no down side for us in having it all as one big vacation...just that towards the end...we were READY to be home. Crazy, considering I look forward to Disney every moment we are not there! :rotfl:

The hours are pretty short in late September you may want to consider taking a short break inside the park rather than using 3-4 hrs leaving the park and coming back. You will be leaving early anyway when they close, it won't be long days. Other than that is is a very easy schedule.

I would agree with the other posters about not going back to the resort for a break. Rent a double stroller for "duration of stay" discount ( for each day the cost =stroller rental price less $2 discount , they give you a card). This allows the kids to ride and not get burned out, nap in the stroller, not get distracted when you are trying to get somewhere, you can park it where you may, not lug one around, haul souvenirs, etc...
