Allears.net says to go this way

Follow the signs for the South Exit from the airport to pick up SR417 South (also called the Central Florida GreeneWay) towards Disney World. Once on SR417, you'll have 2 toll plazas for $1 each. After the 2nd toll, take exit 6 (SR 536/International Drive). Go straight through two sets of traffic lights (first intersection will be International Drive; second will be SR535) which will put you on SR536. Continue straight on this road and go straight through the next set of lights. You will pass the Marriott Orlando World Center on the right and the Holiday Inn Family Suites on the left, then I-4.

Just after you pass I-4, you'll go under under the WDW welcome arch. The road becomes Epcot Center Drive. Gradually move over to the left hand lane. You will pass Epcot on your left. As you do, stay in the far left lane following the sign to the Magic Kingdom. When the road enlarges from a single lane to two lanes, get into the right hand lane. Take the first exit on the right (Magic Kingdom and Magic Kingdom Resorts). You will now be on World Drive. Stay over to the right.

When you approach the Magic Kingdom parking gates, go to the furthest one operating on the right side. NOTE: do not go into the lane marked "Walt Disney World buses only". Tell the parking CM that you are going to check-in at Fort Wilderness. They will wave you through. Stay way over to the right and follow that small road. Keep a sharp lookout because as soon as you get on that road, you will be talking the very first right and it comes up very fast. You will now be on Vista Boulevard. Follow that down about a mile. The entrance to check in to Fort Wilderness will be on the left hand side.

You can also follow the red line in the road from the Magic Kingdom toll booth. It will take you to the Fort Wilderness entrance.

is this the best way.. or is there a better way with less tolls... this way is only $2.00 which is less than just getting on the 407!!! lol

I have no idea...LOL!:)

BUT:)
Here's another way you can check...

www.mapquest.com
Here's the address for MCO: 1 Airport Blvd, FL, 32827-4328

You can print an actual map, with exit identifiers, etc...

Let us know what you decide:)

I've never gone that way before... but I think it is the quickest.

I always hit Walmart before I head to WDW. So I use the roads out of the airport, go to The WalMart on SandyLake Rd. then after that I take the cross street to I-4. And then that in WDW.

It depends where I've had togo to get the rental car from. Then I ask for directions from the rental car place to Walmart after than I know where I'm going.

The one thing I find confusing about the the signs in Florida, is that they give you direction like "to I-4 west" but you go many blocks before you find the turn off for that. Take a look at a bigger map of Fl. you'll notice that the road/highways don't run in straight grid line. The 417 is a great example of that.

Actually, you should go to Exit 3, that's the quickest way to the Magic Kingdom, if that is your first destination...

I was going to check in first since out plane lands at 10:00, and most likely the cabin will not be ready, so then we will head out and go to walmart after that and get our groceries then come back.

Do you know how to get to the Walmart from Disney?
Thanks!

I believe the closest walmart from Disney is on 192. To get there from FW, drive past the Poly (actually it's the only way you can go because it's a one way road). The road, (World Drive), circles the mk parking lot and leads off property to 192 (also called Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway). Go West, past Old Town, past sideroad 535, medieval times, and Walmart is on your right. It's about a 15 minute drive. It's a super walmart. For those with out a car, go to the ttc (mk) and catch the Lynx bus (public transit). The bus will take you there. It's about a 1/2 hour trip by bus.
