Is this split stay doable

I'm thinking about a split stay and wondered if this is something I can do through member services. Stay a Friday and Saturday night a a value or mod then Sun through Friday at a DVC and then end vacation of a Friday and Saturday at another value of mod. Can I do this. Can I book value or mod using cash through Member Services?

You can do what you are wanting to do, but MS can not book any cash hotel rooms. You must go through CRO for those. We are staying at a value for the first night of our May trip and we booked that ourselves through CRO. Then we are having Disney move our luggage over to our DVC resort. Also, if you do this, you will need to book your ME through CRO because your will be arriving and departing from a Disney Resort, not a DVC. Good Luck! You can save points this way if you don't mind moving that many times.

We did a three DVC extravaganza in october at VWL, then AKV, then SSR over 12 days. My wife really hated the moving and it was perhaps the only bad thing about the trip. She likes to settle in at a place, or "its not a vacation for me". We do have a 4 and 1yo which limit our flexibility. I would take that into consideration if you have a similar situation. It may be worthwhile trying get a deal or get cash discount on SSR the last two days to avoid the 2nd move, the price per night was $164 sometimes last yr but they do add price to the weekend. Personally I would never want to finish in a value after livin' it up in a DVC; that would be a total letdown. But this is all IMHO.

We've done it one time with the value at the beginning of the trip and once with it at the end, but never both. We didn't mind "downgrading" at the end, it was just that when we stayed 2 nights at the beginning, we didn't really unpack fully, so it was easy to move our stuff. But after being at the DVC resort for 5 days and then packing everything up to go to the value - that was a pain. It really wasted a lot of time out of our day. I'm not saying I wouldn't do it again - I would probably just plan it out a little better so I wouldn't have to spend so much time re-packing. Good luck!
