Is This Something New?

DH and I have been DVC members for 4 years. In every year past, I have been able to purchase any discounted DVC tickets offered to members such as MNSSHP tickets.
I called today to order my tickets for a party on September 27th and I got a member's services rep who told me as an associate, I can not make the purchase-only the actual "member" (ie, DH) can.
I asked if this is something new because I was always the one to purchase them in the past and she said it is not new. I can not purchase them.
She was pretty rude about it and I just said thanks and hung up.
Anyone know what's up?

As far as I know, the only thing an associate member can do it make reservations. Associates don't get any perks or discounts. So you aren't able to buy discounted tickets. Your husband will have to do that.

You don't even get a blue member card as an associate member.

Well this would be the first time in 4 years that I wasn't allowed to do the purchasing. I've even been the one to pick up the tickets at the window in the past.
DH doesn't even know anything about the discount and I don't think he has ever picked up the phone to even talk to Member's Services. :confused3

Update: I just called back and got a different person and she took the order from me without any problems. All's good.

That's the problem with MS. They don't follow their own rules. When one of the CMs follows the rules, they get chewed out for it.

You need to be added as a member to your contract so you can order things like tickets.

I did not "chew out" the first CM I spoke to. I said "thank you" and we ended the call. I called back because this was the first and only time I was ever told I could not order tickets as an associate. The second person placed my order without any question and I did not even tell the person on the second call that I had any issue before. My second call was handled the same way as ALL my previous calls to Member's Services as an associate member.

my husband does:confused3
I am the member, the contract is in my name and he's associate but we both have blue cards

Never heard of that before. My husband is our associate and does not have a card, only me. I asked when we first purchased if he could get a card and was told that only full members got the membership cards.
