Is this reservation goofy somehow?

Seems like I'm missing something here...

We made 2 reservations:

1) Arrv 5/27 Dept 5/31
CBR - std room
MYW + Dining
10 Day MYW ticket with water option
Total $2087

2) Arrv 5/31 Dept 6/5
POP - std
no tickets since we have the 10 day pack from #1
Total $865

Doing it this way, the total cost is ~$2950

If I book it as one trip, the cost goes to $3641 - why the difference?

The setup here may seem odd, but we got here by doing #1 at CBR and #2 at pop... then we decided to see how much #2 would go up if we just stayed at CBR the whole time.

Also - on another note - would I likely save money on this sort of trip with travelocity, AAA, or with an AP?

Well, staying at CBR the whole time would add to the cost (mod v. value). Also, dining would match the number of nights, so the second quote would be more because you would be getting the dining plan the entire time.

Yes, you would save by going thru AAA or AP route. Travelocity is usually pretty darned close to rack rate, so no savings there. Also, AAA is the only way to book a package WITH dining, and receive a discount on the room portion.

How many people are purchasing the 10 day Park tickets??

We have All Star Movies (June 16-26 10 nights)
10 Day park Hopper with Water Park Fun Option for 2 adults/2 kids
Dining Plan for 10 nights
Total: 3234.02 That is with no discounts as of yet..

It seems that the difference in cost is the Dining Plan that you won't have on the second half of the reservation, maybe???

Sorry I'm confused, are you comparing it to staying at CBR for entire stay w/dining plan as opposed to half of the time at POP without dining?

duh... that was the mistake.

I was thinking that the dining option went with the 10 day MYW ticket, but it goes with the room instead. As people noted, I wouldn't have dining for the 2nd leg at pop - there's the $$$ difference.

I'll have to look into the AAA thing to see how much that may save.
