We want to have some work done on our front yard. Let me preface this by saying we are NOT lawn people, but would like something pretty and pretty hardy.
We just got a quote for the plan we saw last week. The plan is designed with our limitations in mind.
It includes:
completely regrading the front yard (has lots of whole, lumps and bumps from 8 pine trees we took out last spring). We are not going with fescue, but rather with the native bermuda grass plus some ryegrass for winter color. excess dirt will be hauled to our back yard to fill some holes back there.
8 trees:
2 willow oaks
2 crape myrtles
1 japanese maple - mulched bed with other shrubs
1 katsura tree - mulched bed with other stuff
2 others I'm not thinking of right now
lots of shrubs - 5 mulched beds total - 2 are existing and need to be pruned and redone
relocating 8-10 azaleas and about 5-6 gardenias to other parts of the yard
All of this is about $8000 - I don't have it in front of me right now.
Are we crazy or is this about right?
Thanks! Lori
ETA: the lawn part is $3000 and the trees / shrubs / beds part is $5000.
