I wanted to post this question here first because I was unsure if something like this is possible. I've rented points before, but haven't traded them.

We need 310 OKW points for a reservation at an OKW Grand Villa. We have 310 BLT points that we can trade & transfer for the reservation or the transfer of the OKW points. Basically there is no money traded, only point for point.

Is this something that is allowed?

Aside from the fact that DVC rules don't actually allow for payments for points transfers ... so ignoring that ...

You would have to find an owner willing to do such a transfer with you -- one that considers their 310 points to be worth exactly the same as your 310 points. That might or might not be as easy as you are thinking. You might have to just pay someone for their points and let them pay you for yours, unless you both agree that the points are worth the same $XX per point. Also, that's a lot of points as well for many members (like me).

How many points do you have? Couldn't you use this year's points and borrow next year's to get your 310?

I have the points needed. I am just looking for the 11 month window. It's for a reservation around Christmas and I don't want to wait for the 7 month date for us to book the reservation. I'm afraid there will no longer be any Grand Villas available by that time.

There are two ways to accomplish the 11 month window. You can transfer OKW points into your account from an OKW member, or you can offer to trade a reservation at your home resort for a reservation at OKW.

This would be either a Point Transfer Wanted thread, or a Trade Wanted thread on our Rent/trade board. Please read the sticky threads there for all the posting requirements.

I need to close this thread, so it is not interpreted as a transaction offer on our regular DVC Boards. The only DIS board that allows rental/trade/transfer transaction threads is our Rent/Trade board.
