hi all,
could this be possible?i am going feb 6-feb 14,i choose this time because i read in the month of feb, it is the quietest time to visit.i could get vacation time any dates in feb so i picked this week to go,i read all over that it was one of the best/slowest time to go right before the major holiday dash.so now a friend of mine is trying to get a room on propety for the same week and she checked the website and even called the only thing avalible was akl and she won't pay those kind of rates, she was told on the phone this is the only resort, besides contempory that has any and a small number (very small)of rooms left.coulkd it be that busy there??is this possible or a error??i was there same time last year the 9-17 and it seemed very slow to me.so whats changed about this year????

I don't think it'll be that busy. Those dates just aren't that far away. I booked the Boardwalk less than a week ago for Feb. 10th-Feb. 14th. Keep calling and checking online early in the morning, that's what I did. I checked really early in the morning online before 3am (pacific time) and found a standard room for the Boardwalk.

Good luck! :)

Is your friend reading the site correctly? AKL is always at the top of the page unless you specify the type of resort you want. Also, how many in the party? If more than 4 your friend will be shown mostlye Deluxes, POR is the only mod that sleeps 5 with one in a trundle.

Keep in mind that the Daytona 500 is the following weekend, on the 19th - but the track is will be busy with events prior to that. There may be overflow staying/playing at WDW during "Speedweeks".

Maybe there's a big convention going on there. That does seem a little strange. :confused3

I just looked at the Disney site and Port Orleans Riverside is available for 2-6/2-14. for a price of 1240.

How many people are they trying to make a reservation for?

Winter break for our district statrts the following week, maybe people are booking a few days into the week before and the whole week isn't available at the resorts, maybe you can split the dates between 2 hotels? And again, number of people makes a huge difference.

There may also be conventions in Orlando that were originally booked for NO, with rooms being held that may be released later.

Keep calling, things change daily/maybe hourly.

We go to WDW 2x's a year now, and sometimes we book last minute-

WDW res opens alotments now and then, keep calling, there are so many res agents, you'll find something.

good luck. :cool1:

Could be conventions. We were at DTD today and I saw a handful of people there for DIFFERENT conventions.

They have a 5 day cancellation policy at WDW--so 5 days before your trip is a good time to check as well.
