Is this even possible?

Our flight gets in to MCO around 8:45pm. We are taking ME to AKL. MK is open until 12am. We do not have a car. Should we even try to go to MK or just settle into our room at AKL and plan to RD MK the next morning?

I'm really excited to get to WDW!!!!

We plan on 3 hours from touchdown to walking through the gates when using all Disney transportation.

Have a walk around the resort and relax.

No way would I try to manage MK under those time restaints. Figure 90 minutes to your resort, and then t least 30 minutes to get a bus to MK, you gt there and it is time to turn around. I would just relax and get out early the next morning.

The latter. Sounds very tight by the time you get your luggage, take bus, etc.
I'd definitely settle in to your hotel and go for rope drop in the morning.

Even If I could make it, I wouldn't burn a day on my ticket unless I had an AP.

With everyone else - changes are you'll never make it. You have to plan on at east 1.5-2 hours from the time you touch down to the time you get off the plane to the time you arrive at the resort. You have to allow for time to actually get off the plane (which can take 15+ minutes depending on how crowded it is, where your seat is etc...), get your luggage, get to the ME transport, get to the resort (which is a good 30 minute drive), get checked in etc...

I wouldn't. We never plan for a park day on our arrival day. This will be our first time driving, as we now live in Florida. We still plan to arrive between 330-430 pm, we have an ADR at our resort at 630. We plan to arrive, check in, get comfy, visit our resort, have dinner, watch fireworks from said resort. In years past, when we used transport from MCO, we did the same, planned dinner out of parks, visited our resort, went to DTD, and just rested for our first day in the Parks.

We are flying on Southwest so if an earlier flight becomes less expensive, then I'll switch the flight to earlier in the day. It wasn't too much to add another day to our park tickets - from 8 days to 9 days was only like $10 extra per person - to me completely worth adding a day for an hour at MK lol

I thought when you used ME, as long as your flight arrived before 10pm ME delivered your bags to your room for you so you didn't have to get them yourselves. We always pack pjs and change of clothes in our carry-on so if bags don't arrive until the next morning, there are no worries.

I just am really excited to get there and I love MK at night so let's hope for some pixie dust :)

I would suggest just wait until the next day and start fresh. One thing I did not see mentioned is the type of tickets you are planning on using. It would be a shame to burn a day of park entry for 30-60 minutes of time that first night unless you had something like an annual pass where that does not matter.

Now, I am not saying that you could not or should not go to MK that night. I know that I might consider doing the same thing some time, but I would not make any specific plans head of time. This is a decision I would not make before I was actually on the bus on my way to WDW or better yet actually pull up at my resort.

If everything goes right and you are at your resort within 75-90 minutes (10-10:15 pm), then you leave any carry-ons with Bell Service and do not go to your room, you might be able to make it to MK by 11 pm and get your hour in. If you have any delays, you might not make it. I am not sure how often the buses to the parks run in the final hours before close, especially with such a late closing.

I think if I were to plan for something specific and had any delay, I would get aggravated and that is not how I would want to start my trip. If I go in without a set plan, then I would just take everything as it comes then I am not going to be as upset by any longer than usual delays.

It's possible. But you won't have much time if you do manage to get there before closing.
