We are visiting Anaheim and Disneyland a couple days after our cruise in October.:thumbsup2
We planned our Disneyland day for Thursday Oct 15th and are staying at HOJO so plan to be there at opening....

So if we spent all day there would we be able to do most everything by 5pm? I don't think there will be Fantasmic or Fireworks on that Thursday? That will be my deciding factor??

If there is not then I was thinking DD and I would let hubby go back to the hotel and chill and her and I would head over too CA and do the Halloween party that starts at 6:30????:yay: Would that be too much for one day??

We are pretty adventurous and plan to spend Friday relaxing at Laguna beach!

Now if there will be Fantasmic and Fireworks we would just stay at DL.

If not we will just do CA another time.;)

Single ticket are so expensive that I thought the party would be a less expensive way too see CA.

I wish they had a party on that Wednesday ,but they do not?

Thanks for any advice! First trip to the west coast!!!:dance3:

I think you should go for it! I usually advise people to park hop even if they only have one day anyway, but the TOTP is a special occasion and it will be fun to be there at night. Of course, not all of the rides will be open during the TOTP, but lots of them will be. Toy Story Midway Mania, for one, will be open. Plus, you will get lots and lots of candy at the treat stations, special photo ops with rarely seen villains and Disney characters in Halloween costumes, special TOTP merchandise, etc. All kinds of fun stuff. I think you should do it! In fact, I was trying to formulate some sort of Halloweentime plan fo DLR this year and initially I wanted a weekend but am now considering if a day at DL and the TOTP in DCA might be doable in one day. We basically did it last year, though we stayed for a weekend - we actually spent all day in DCA and then walked to DL to eat dinner and then back over to DCA for the TOTP. So I imagine that you could spend all day in DL and just bop across the esplanade to the TOTP when it starts. I think that would be a great idea!!:thumbsup2

There will be special Halloween/villain-themed fireworks in DL this year, by the way! They are new, and Jack Skellington is the Master of Scareamonies. I assume Fantasmic is happening as well.

Thanks for the uplifting advice!! I think we just might once I see the October hours I will decide.:goodvibes

So my main concern....Will TOT and Soarin be open??????

Note that I edited my first post with a sentence about the Halloween fireworks in DL. Last year at the TOTP, I know that ToT was definitely open (with a slight Halloween motif). Monsters Inc. was open. TSMM was open. We did not go over to where Soarin' is that night, but seeing that it is one of the most popular rides, I would assume it will be open too. Don't wait too long to get your TOTP tickets, though. They do sell out.

I'd totally do both parks in one day. It is possible, especially in October when attendance is lower.

My husband and I went to DCA in October the first year it was open. We bought a full day ticket, showed up in the morning at 10amish, and were done with the whole park by 2pm. And this was with ALL the rides open. We thought it would be an "all day" park like Disneyland, but were sadly disappointed, and at that late in the day, we couldn't get a park hopper pass.

Weekdays in October Disneyland closes earlier, so you could probably hit DCA as soon as DL's gates close. Hourwise, it would be no worse than showing up in the morning over the summer and staying at DL all day.

Or course, we don't have any small children in our group to slow us down, so you might want to take that into consideration before you make your plans.
