Is this because of discounts or not?

I heard on the news today that Walt Disney World reported a 33 percent increase in operating revenue for the first quarter of 2008. They say attendance is up and they're not being affected by the struggling economy.
I wonder if people are going to Disney because they've gotten discounted rates or if everyone thinks like I do: I work hard 51 weeks a year, I'm spending one week playing like a kid and having fun!

I personally think it is because the dollar is in the toilet and many Europeans are able to better afford trips here, and they are able to stay longer.

That's my guess, as well. When we were on the Magic and at WDW in February, there were *way* more Europeans at both than any other trip I can remember. I spoke with one really nice lady from Spain (if I remember correctly), and that's exactly what she said -- that it was so much cheaper for them to come now because of the dollar.
