Is this a vacation or a fun boot camp? ~ Our 1st time at Disney ~ June 2011 TR

Don't the commercials for Winnie the Pooh say "In Theater's Only"??? Perhaps I'm making that up? LOL...I feel like I remember hearing that somewhere....:confused3

Don't worry, it'll be out on DVD in a few months, just like every movie.:goodvibes

They count heavily on those DVD sales!!;)

Hey again!! About Kidcot, I'm sad to say I knew nothing about it! Can you share some info on it? Do they get something special if they visit a kidcot station? TIA!!!

Sure. :) It's a little place in each country that helps the kids enjoy the World Showcase a little more. Each Kidcot will have a Cast member native to that country inside and they can sign and stamp your child's "passport", you can bring one you've made yourself or you can purchase them in Epcot. We made our own, you can find some great designs from the girls on the Creative Board here on the DIS ;) When we were there, they gave our kids these paper Duffy the bear fans that they could color and if they didn't have passports, they could have their Duffy fan stamped and signed instead. Also, if they are pin trading, they could do this here. We didn't really get into pin trading until we ran into that girl at the American Pavilion. (I talked about that earlier in my report.)

We had a little trouble finding the ones that we went to, so I plan to take this list here with me next time..... :worship:

Kidcot Fun Stops in Epcot World Showcase:

  • Mexico Pavilion (near Animales Fantasticos)
  • Norway Pavilion (The Puffin's Roost)
  • China Pavilion (near exit to Reflections of China)
  • Germany Pavilion (Volkunst)
  • Italy Pavilion (outside near La Bottega Italiana)
  • American Adventure Pavilion (outside near Heritage Manor Gifts)
  • Japan Pavilion (in Bijutsu-kan Gallery)
  • Morocco Pavilion (Marketplace in the Medina)
  • France Pavilion (Souvenirs de France)
  • United Kingdom Pavilion (The Toy Soldier)
  • Canada Pavilion (exit from O Canada! attraction)

And you can find some great info on Kidcots here too: http://www.stitchkingdom.com/kidcot/ :thumbsup2

Ok, so I have some work cut out for me. I'm going to print your list and try to get to as many as possible! Since we're only in Epcot for a little over half the day, I know I won't get to all of them.:sad2:

Day 5
It was time to leave Disney. :sad1: Luckily, we had one more thing planned before we officially left. Breakfast at the Polynesian Resort... I was really looking forward to seeing this resort and eating at 'Ohana's!
Our ADR was for 8:40am. We got up, dressed, and packed the car. We pulled around front and I ran in to get us check out of All Star Movies. It was after 8 and I was getting nervous that we were going to be late. I walked in and of course there was a line. It was only a couple of people in front of me but they were checking in and so this took some time... felt like I waited and hour before it was my turn... Ok, maybe it was like 15 minutes? :rotfl:
Every minute makes you nervous when your in a hurry to make it to an ADR!!
Finally got that done and ran back out to the car and drove to the Poly!

I LOVE this place... So beautiful!!! :lovestruc

We jumped into the very long check in line at 8:37am! And waited... about 10 minutes later we got checked in and were given a pager. We decided to skip the photo taking here since I knew I'd be suckered into buying it if we did!
We found some seats in the waiting area and the kids watched cartoons.

We were finally paged about 20 minutes later. I'm glad we weren't in a hurry to get to a park! But I guess it's was partially our fault for not getting there soon enough to check in on time lol. ;)
They brought our yummy pineapple bread and juice first thing, followed by the fruit tray.

Stitch was the first character to come by! We loved him!

The breakfast came out about 5 minutes after Stitch was gone. It was SO yummy!! This was our favorite breakfast and character meal!!! :thumbsup2

Pluto was next!

cont in next post!

We had a little wait after Pluto while the characters did the parade around the restaurant (my kids wouldn't get up!). And then our next guest was Lilo!

Last but never least, Mickey!! :)

It was a little after 10am when we walked out of Ohana's and made a stop at the bathrooms. While we were there waiting on DH and DS, I had to get a pic of these gorgeous flowers:

And then we took a walk outside to check out the pool and beach area!
We seen a couple over in the grassy area taking wedding pictures. :goodvibes

Can someone please grant me a free stay at the Poly now?

NEXT UP: Leaving Disney, going home.... :guilty:

Oh no at it being time to leave Disney! :sad2: Bet you can’t wait to go back!

Am glad you really liked Poly – can’t wait to visit it during our trip. I would love to stay there one day but the prices are scary! :scared1:

Love the lieus and yay on meeting Stitch as well as the other characters! What a fun way to end your trip! ;)

I CAN'T wait to go back!!! I'm so glad we are booked for March!! :goodvibes

Yeah there is no way we could stay at the Poly without a nice pin code or something. It would be great though, its so pretty! I'm also looking forward to seeing the Grand Floridian on our next trip!! (Hoping for a 1900 PF ADR there!)

I think it might become tradition to do a character meal on the morning of our departure now.. it was nice to have that one last experience before we hit the road! :)

Your Ohana breakfast looks so neat!!! You have me super excited to eat there on our trip! :goodvibes

We thought it was awesome! If I was going to do any repeat ADRs next trip, it would be this one!! But I'm trying to tell myself to try some new/different places! :)

It's making me sad that your trip is ending:sad2: My DH is always ready to go home but I never want to leave!

Love Ohanas, isn't the breakfast there yummy? The dinner is great too and unfortunately my DH loved dinner so much that I don't think I'll ever get him there for breakfast again.

We're having dinner at 'Ohana... have never been there, or to the Poly, so I'm excited to see the resort!

The Poly is my dream resort, but it will be a while before we can afford it...and it's possible that we never will. The thing that gets to me about it is that they don't have king size beds in the standard rooms, and since it would be most likely that we could afford it as an adult only trip, it still won't likely happen, because we won't be able to afford a suite. Maybe for our 20th anniversary, when we won't mind not sharing a bed? :rotfl:

Actually, I'll probably just split a stay with it at some point.

We did breakfast at Ohana on our honeymoon, and really enjoyed it. I'm glad you enjoyed it too. I really want to go back for dinner, but our last few trips have been very last minute, so the ADRs were scarce. I did get one for our trip in November, but it was very late on our arrival day (like 9PM or something), and we ended up canceling it so we could rest.

We've done 1900 Park Fare for dinner, and the character interaction is fantastic. The Grand Floridian is gorgeous, but it doesn't really draw me to spend the money to stay there. I'm sure it would be nice, but oddly enough, my husband likes it more than I did, when we go to visit.

I was hoping to try Ohana too but I'm perfectly fine with what we have planned this trip. We'll just have to plan for Ohana on our next trip!;)

It makes me sad too, I don't even want to finish it now lol... but I will.
I really really want to try dinner there sometime! I thought about it for our March trip but I have another place in mind to try. So, we'll see...

Yes I feel like a stay at the Poly is a must...even if that is 10 years from now
I'm glad to hear that about 1900 PF!

Yep you can't eat at all the good places in one trip, so definitely put it on your list for the next one!!! :thumbsup2 I have a long wish list of places to eat while in Disney and it'll take several trips to get to them all :rolleyes1

Your kiddos are so cute! Ohana looked wonderful!!! I loved the food pics and all the beautiful flowers in and around the resort. Ohana ADRs looks like a must do for our next trip!!!:cloud9:
