Is this a stupid idea?

Today we got a really nice pin for May that we have no intention of using. We leave in 2 weeks, we're not rebooking at this point!

The pin is for all of May, a 5day/4 night stay-play-and-dine deal for value resorts and includes the QSDP.

My sister is "this close" to booking 5 days in May. At Pop. With a dining plan. This pin is MADE for her. And she can't use my pin! :(

So what I really want to do is call Disney and explain this. And beg them to cancel this pin in my name and put in my sister's instead. Crazy, I know. But... what if it worked? She'd come - she's about 90% decided right now.

So, stupid idea - waste of time and cell minutes? Or is there even a tiny chance I can share some pixie dust?

If you're talking about your sister coming along for the same dates of your vacation, then just book her ressie in your name and use the code.

No, not the same dates. We're going in March, she would go in May.

Sorry, but I don't think it'd work. I go to WDW several times a year and have never gotten a Pin. A couple of years ago my mom (who has never gone to WDW except as a guest in my room) got a PIN. I made multiple calls explaining the situation, trying to use it and was shot down every time. I told them I didn't even know how they'd gotten her address as she shouldn't even be listed anywhere in their system. The only way they had her name was as a guest in my room. It didn't matter, they would not let me use it. I was told it was her PIN, not mine and unless she was in the room I could not use it.

I say give it a shot. :) But I'm knew to PINs and such but you'll never TRULY know unless you try.

I still don't think it'll work, from what I hear...but you might get lucky.

Could you book it for her? I know that you can do it online now. If you booked it, she paid you, and the information came to your house (so no change of address) I think it would work. I wouldn't want to do this with "just a friend" but with your sister if you feel comfortable with her giving you the money and you paying I'm not sure it would be a problem. You could always forward her the mail.

Don;t you have to show an ID at checkin?

There was a post a week or so ago where someone booked online using a PIN and when it came time to put in the guest info they changed their sister's info to theirs and were successful at booking with the discounted rate. No way of knowing at this point if there will be issues later with this getting flagged or problems at check in.

OP, would you mind sharing the dates that your PIN is valid? Just wondering because I have not heard of many PINS that cover May dates.

It never hurts to call and ask. The worst they can say is no.

That's what I figured. I wouldn't be with them, so technically the PIN wouldn't apply.

Well, sure this would work - to a point. But since I'd have to get everything in dsis's family's names eventually, I think this could either A- fall through at checkin or B - come back and bite me next time I try to go. I'd prefer not to do anything "illegal" - I just want to help out dsis. Our names are not the same and we live in different towns

It was a deal I hadn't seen mentioned here yet. The dates covered May 1 thru May 30. It was sent on a carboard tri-fold card (no envelope). And unlike the first pin we got where the number was buried in small print at the bottom of a "newsletter" type page, this one had the PIN front and center, big bold numbers/letters.

And that's what I feel too! You never know... And since I'd be calling to advocate for HER (not her calling to beg), maybe...? Just maybe? I'll give it a shot and let you know what happens.
