I hope this is not a sign of the times for campers. We just got back from camping, not at FW but a nice campground. We had all of our Christmas decoration stolen off of our site last night. They took our 3 musical trees and a blowup snow glob. This is the 1st time I’ve ever had anytime taken from my site in 20yr of camping. The sad thing is we don’t have the extra money to replace them so now our site for New Year will not be decorated.:confused3

Thats terrible! I'm sorry that happened. Go and have a good holiday camping anyway. Too bad a few idiots have to attempt to ruin someones vacation.:headache:

I'm sorry this happened to you..it certainly does make you wonder. Especially that I've always found campers to be a nice bunch of folks.
We had our pumpkins taken and smashed in the road right off our porch...kind of annoyed me since we made a really cute jack-o-lantern out of one. Makes you wonder what kind of person does things like that.

so sorry about the idiots.... sheesh. Perhaps the rest of your holiday camping trips will be extra fabulous!!

You have got to be kidding me, and no one seen anything, how terrible !
We did have a cooler stolen at myrtle beach last year, my neighbors seen kids come over from the hotel next store and carry it off...they didn't know if they were our kids or not so they didn't say anything to them.
Stupid kids though because the cooler next to the lounge chairs were full of drinks and much nicer, the one they ran with was on the picnic table just for ice and cost us about 20.00...:rolleyes1

I know times are hard all over the place I hope our decoration when to a family that needed them for their Christmas. We donated to a local toy drive charity every year. Last year they supplied toys to 5000 kids this year over 8000 kids. So if the people really need my decoration they can have them.

Manalive....do YOU ever win the humanitarian award!!!! I wondered when I was at the fort if anyones stuff ever got stolen, I was gonna decorate our golf cart but the wife convinced me that anything I would put on it that was nice would only disappear. I hated to think she was right, especially with all the beautiful and costly decos at the fort...and MAYBE it IS different at the Fort....but kids these days are RUTHLESS. Another poster mentioned pumpkins getting smashed....thats somewhat acceptable hi-jinks on halloween for the teens, Im a little disapointed on November 1st if I open the door and my pumpkins AREN'T a large orange mess in the street...but how do you display STOLEN xmas decos with any holiday cheer in your heart???:confused3 You are a very forgiving, "look for the silver lining" kinda person DisCamper, you deserve an xmas miracle:santa:

Darn. Our family enjoyed seeing that snowglobe next to us last year at the Fort....it will be missed.

Sorry they took your Christmas decorations! Must be Grinches!!!!

I sure hope it isn't a sign of the times. Camping was one of the few places that I haven't heard about people steeling stuff. Some people will just take whatever they can instead of getting off their lazy butts and working for it like the rest of us hard working folks. Burns me up!!!!!

There is a commercial on the radio, I think selling Security Systems. They say, 'thieves don't buy Christmas gifts, they steal them.' I think it is hard for most of us to understand the sort of mentality involved in acts like these. If they just needed some decorations, couldn't they have left you at least one and been content???

Most crimes are a crime of opprutunity, and I guess someone just couldn't pass this one up. Sorry for your trouble.

Oh was that your stuff????? I'm sorry. It looks great with my inflatables I already have. Just kidding. I'm just trying to get a laugh out of u. I'm sorry to hear that mess. It's a sad world but karma will catch up with these people don't worry. I'm sure it was some kids. I have a feeling something good is coming back at ya for this happening. Especially with your attitude of being nice still. :santa:

What a bummer!!! Some people are just idiots, they sure can use a good beating.
