Is this a scam?

I've had people come up and ask me to donate to the poor (something I never do anyway), to 'give' her something and she'll hand it out to other members. Naturally I refused, thinking ' that's a new attempt', but still am wondering if there is any validity to this.

It was a scam.

If you have anything you dont want, have the fun of giving it to someone else, yourself. Gifting is great... asking for something to give to others, unless it is something like the Black Mickey Ears or Buzz codes... is silly.

Yea if it's a random person I'd say it's a scam and better you turn them down. Better safe then sorry!

I had a friend who I'd known for a while and had rare things like me and was scammed out of most everything for inferno. She asked some people for some stuff as well. She was extremely grateful for the things she got. So while there may be some valid people I'd say don't give stuff away unless it's NPC pins!

there was one girl on vmk saying that she was poor in real life i got made and told her off, i said that if she is poor how does she have a computer, and what is stuff on vmk going to do for you in the real world? ect ect ect

I am glad you didn't fall for that. I almost did. But then I remembered my motto, "Only gift if they don't ask." As in I will give random people stuff on Main Street if I have no use for it, but I will never give it to someone who begs.

Of course, that way of thinking almost got me reported yesterday.
I will tell you exactly what they did.
