Is this a ridiculous amount to pay for 4 nights?

Hi. I'm looking for honest opinions regarding a 4 night vacation for my mother, dd (3) and myself.

1 standard room at BWI, 4 days parkhopper and dining plan: $2,167.55
I've never stayed at a deluxe before. Only moderate. Should I do it or go for POFQ at $1758.

Is this deluxe worth $400 more? It doesn't seem like that big of a jump, does it?

Your opinion WILL be taken into consideration when making this decision!

Thanks!

BWI is a great resort. Consider location, location, location and you will find it money well spent. Walking to Epcot is great and the boat to MGM is nice and quick (or you can hike if you are up for it).

Treat the ladies to deluxed and enjoy :thumbsup2

I think the $400 is an easy chioce!! Go for it... I love the mods but to be in the epcot resort area would be so nice.

I definitely think it's worth the difference. Once you are there, you will be glad you chose the Boardwalk Inn. We are staying at the BWI in January for the third time. I just LOVE the location and the theming. We can walk over to EPCOT anytime we want and take the boat to MGM. The location is fabulous.

I think you made the right decision :thumbsup2

Can you afford it or will it be pinching the budget? If it is pinching and it will give you less to spend on something else then the moderate resorts are very nice also. If you can afford it with no problem...go for it.

Thanks so much for your opinions! If we stayed at POFQ I was going to rent a car, but since we can walk to Epcot from BWI, if we stay there I will not rent one. That is $100 savings right there. Now we are only looking at a $300 difference!

We got a room at POP with free dining for 5 nights and regular park tickets (3 adult, 1 child) for one day (we had leftovers from last year for the rest of the days) for $498. Deluxe isn't worth THAT much more.

IMHO, it's just a room, go for the value and save your money.

OP - you asked if it is a crazy amount of money to spend - for me, yes, that would be crazy to spend on 4 nights because that's more than I make in a month as a teacher. So, I would never do it. But you are you - you know your situation better than anyone and only you can know how your budget will be affected by this. I think it depends on what you are looking for out of this trip - and how much time you actually have to spend eating all the long table service meals instead of playing in the parks. Also,

That being said, I wouldn't want to walk from Epcot to BWI very often after walking around epcot - long walk in my tired opinion. I love POFQ for the age your child is - resort is nice and small, good playground, lego and/or coloring table in the resturant, small pool slide, boat to down town disney.

But why does it cost so much money? POFQ is $139 a night usually - the tickets can't be adding that much can they? You aren't going to get your money's worth for the child's dining plan, you will be spending most of your time on 3 year old time, menaing you will be trying to do everything for her and not spening time on yourselves and using the full extent of the dining plan.

We usually stay at Value Resorts and use the savings for other things. But if your choice is between a Mod or a Deluxe, its worth it to go deluxe. But if you wanted a good time but have extra $ left over, go Value.

If it is not going to strain your budget than I say go for it! You will love the location and ammenities at a deluxe resort. The boardwalk area is so much fun :cool1:

It sounds like a great deal. Especially considering the savings on the rental car. We usually stay Value but if we were thinking Moderate or Deluxe, spending just $300 more to stay within walking distance from Epcot would be money well spent. As far as walking - by the time you walk out of the park at EPCOT to the busses and then walk from the busses to your room at whatever resort you are staying at, I think that you would almost be doing less walking by staying at the Boardwalk. Of course this would depend on your room location! Enjoy :teeth:

Well, yes, that is a lot of money to me when I consider our 18 day trip last year for 5 of us was $4000 and that included AP's...............but, if you really want to do a deluxe resort and the dining plan, then it really isn't that much more compared to a moderate.

If you can swing it, go for it. Sounds like a dream trip to me. :goodvibes Have fun with the planning.
