After we went on the safari ride, we walked over to Asia to see another one of my favorite shows: Flights of Wonder. If you have missed this show in the past: don't miss it again! It is different every time. I love watching all of the birds. Here are some pictures:
Josh got called up on stage to participate in the "photo opp of a lifetime". here are the pictures he took:
Unfortunately, the owl was moving faster than he anticipated and he just got a blurry photo of him in flight. But he did get an awesome photo on stage. Here are my pictures:
Josh was so happy to participate. He even got a cute little certificate.
We had some time to kill before the parade, so we walked around the trails some more. I thought I had pictures of that, but I can't find them. Oh well. Here is a picture of my food that I got at Pizzafari.
I used to love the sandwich at Pizzafari, but this time I thought it was gross. The strawberry parfait thing was not much better. I won't go her next time. Blech!
I don't remember what else we did to kill time before the parade. I think we went shopping. I do remember it being really hot. And I remember Josh and I debating if we wanted to skip the parade and just go back to the hotel. We ended up sitting down like 45 minutes before the parade was supposed to start, and we just suffered through the heat. Here is a picture of the parade. We were sitting in a weird spot, so I didn't get many good pictures. The shade and the angle we were sitting at made the pictures look weird.
After we were done with the parade, we made a beeline for the entrance. I hated leaving the park so early, but I couldn't stand the heat. We went back for a much-needed nap in the A/C. When it was time for dinner, we returned to AK.
So Josh and I were a little on the fence about this meal BEFORE we had it. I had been there before the first time I went to Disney World, and the service was horrible (we also weren't on the ddp). Josh didn't think there was anything on the menu that he would like. But we still made the ressie and went to dinner. Boy were we wrong! This was my favorite meal of the entire trip!
So when the waiter came by to take our order, Josh had decided he wanted the kobe beef burger. But he was unsure about the "soy mayo". He asked the waiter if he could get it on the side. the waiter smiled and said, "it is already on the side". Josh asked him what he meant. The waiter explained that the dressing was so good, people kept asking for more of it. So they now serve the burger with an extra helping of mayo on the side. Josh took his word for it (kept the mayo on the side and on the burger), but still ordered the mushrooms on the side (he is picky). I got a flank steak with tempura fried prawns and jasmine rice.
After the waiter left, Josh and I were talking (I don't remember what it was about) and he got overly excited. He spread his arms out, and knocked his drink across the room! We got everything cleaned up with some extra napkins and some help from our waiter. Josh teased me and said, "well at least I didn't break the glass"!
After that little issue was resolved, the waiter brought out our amazing food. Here comes the food porn!
Fried wontons! Sooo good!
My Mango Pie. This was in a to-do box because Josh decided he was too full for dessert. So we picked something on the menu that would be easy to eat later. This was also yummy.
So the park was closed by the time we were done eating. We headed to Epcot for some extra Photopass pictures (speaking of which, I still need to get those on here). We also did some shopping in the World Showcase. We bought my sister-in-law an Alice tea cup and a little purple lucky cat (purple for luck in art).
After Epcot closed, we went back to our hotel. Our last full day was over
