Is this a hoax?

I got an email today for a survey from surveyspot with a reward of a $20 amazon gift cert. When I clicked on the link it showed three steps for getting the $20. The second step was giving them my credit card and checking account information. I didn't do it and feel a little dumb even asking if this was a hoax but I thought I'd ask anyway just in case it was for real.

Sounds like a scam.

I am a SurveySpot member and have received a check from them in the past, but it sounds like someone is "cloning" their email "look" to scam people. NEVER give out that kind of info unless you initiated a legitimate tranasaction at a reputable web merchant.

I agree, definitely sounds like a scam!! Be careful!!

This is definitely a scam! Don't feel dumb for asking; you would have really felt bad if you gave them the info and they cleaned out your bank account. There are many scams out there so when in doubt ask or just delete them. We're here to help each other out!

Make sure you also forward the email to surveyspot so they are aware of it. Hopefully they'll be able to warn all their members about this type of scam.
