Is this a good rate for Poly?

I priced the Poly for Aug. 22nd - 30th and I got a DC rate of $292 a night, that's with tax included, I'm not sure what the base price was. I should also add this is a standard view room.
Is this a good price or should I hold out for something better?
If I book with this rate now, can I later change it if something better comes along or are you stuck with the rate once you book it?

If you definitely want the Poly, I would book it now at that price, and keep an eye out for codes to come out for those dates. Last year we spent a night at the Poly during that week(8/30 I think), and with a code we were able to get the room for about 200.00, including tax.

It's not a great rate. I think I would book it though, but watch the cancellation policies carefully. AND DON'T TAKE THE INSURANCE. It's non-refundable

If a code comes out, you'lll have to leave a new deposit with CRO & wait for a refund from DC.

We went Aug. of 2002 and I ended up paying $220 per night (tax included).

For that time of the year, the end of August, it is value season so you should be able to get a lower rate but if you're set on those dates I would go ahead and book at that rate and then just keep checking for codes late spring/early summer. They will credit you if a lower rate is available.

My sister paid for that time of year $240 including tax but that was for concierage. She used a code. I paid her amount a week before Easter in 2001 but with an AP discount.

Thanks for all the responses. I think I will try to book it now and hope for a better rate. Unfortunately, when I tried to book the Poly, their computers were down. Hopefully they'll be fixed soon. It sounded like it was a big problem, some kind of computer virus.
