Hi,

I have found, what appearsto be the best deal i have found from www.flights4less.couk, part of lastminute.com .

It is from Friday 24th October to Friday 31st October, flying with United Airlines.

They are indirect flights.
Heathrow --> Washington Dulles --> Orlando.
Orlando --> Chicago O'Hare --> Heathrow.

The hotel is the Rodeway Inn International.

It costs £830 (£415 each).

What do you all think?

Have any of you flown with United Airlines, or stayed at the Rodeway Inn International?

Thanks:D

Oh, and the flights cost £690 (£345) on their own, without any accomodation.

What do you think?

Sounds like a good deal although the Rodeway Inn International is a low budget hotel. Expect the daily rate to be less than $30 in October for this hotel.

Other places to try for low budget flights are Travel City Direct (pg 298 on Teletext) and Airtours.

Have you considered a car?

Flown with United Airlines before and flying with them again in less than 1 weeks time!!! Via Chicago outbound and via Washington on the return.

We like them - no problems and tend to find their prices reasonable.

Sorry to be negative, but here goes...
United Airlines are experiencing major financial difficulties, chapter 11 I think? Suffice to say, they've gone (or at least nearly gone) bust. The result is companies like Virgin Travel Store, who sold me United tickets for this August, will no longer sell their tickets, for fear of the seats simply disappearing in the coming months. As for what they are like to go with, I'll let you know, if we actually get to travel with them in 41 days time!
Rodeway Int... We stayed there a few years ago. The main reason we went for that particular hotel was the internal corridors. Some hotels have external corridors, so people walk past your window and are able to peer in. So we thought it'd be nice if that didn't happen! So the Rodeway was chosen!!!
However, from day one, it was unbelievably noisey. Every night there was screaming etc down the corridors, so much so we couldn't sleep at all. In the end we complained to the hotel management, who very kindly moved us to their sister hotel at the time, the Omni Rosen, which was a far more up-market hotel and simply fantastic in comparison.
Sorry to be so long winded and negative, but it's better to know...

The flight don't look too bad a deal, I would say check out Delta's costings as they were advertising a "special" rate just a couple of weeks ago. If that's October half term time it's probably not going to get massively cheaper. As far as the hotel goes I do think you could get a hotel cheaper ( or maybe you'd prefer a "better" hotel for the same cost. I just checked out hotwire and for those dates you can get a 3.5 * hotel near Universal for $45 a night or in the WDW area you can get a 2.5 * for $26 per night.

I wouldn't worry too much about Chapter 11. United have been in it for ages now and it hasn't seemed to affect their service.

Many US and other carriers have been teetering on the edge of this for ages, it is not the same as bankruptcy.

We have just booked with Delta for next Easter and got brilliant prices, I believe they do have some deals on now.

We are flying 25/10 to 1/11 with AA, might be worth a look too? About £450 each, but booked some time ago, via JFK

United expect to come out of Chapter 11 in or around October this year.

I have flown with them lots and would heartily reccommend them.

Join their mileage plus frequent flyer programme, you can rack up miles easily - I am using a free flight from my airmiles for my annual Vegas trip in December.

Either Trailfinders or Travelbag..can't remember which!! Have used both in the past and have done me great deals. Websites not great, ring them and speak to a person!!
Phone numbers usually in the papers on a Sat or Sun (travel supps). Am at work now, will look for them when I get home!:p
