that you can temporarily put up to make sure a kid doesn't fall out of the top bunk in a TT??

We are looking at new TTs, and thinking the double bunk will work good for us. DD3 will sleep on bottom, and DS6 on top...however, I'm just scared to death he's going to fall out (he's a wild sleeper). He doesn't ever fall out of his bed, but he sleeps in a double, obviously twice the size of the bunk (and I put extra pillows on the side to make an extra barrier). I thought about a bedrail, but I'm not sure it that will work under one of those bunk mattressess, and I don't want to damage anything.

Any ideas?? :confused3

We have a bed rail for our camper. It has legs that go under the mattress and have not had a problem yet.

I am sure if you are creative you can make some sort of rail that slides under the mattress. If not the trailer is yours and you won't be the first one to customize something just do it in a professional way so it looks like it came that way.

Speaking of the double bunks....didn't anyone get a ladder for that top bunk when they bought their unit. My dealer said they don't come with one.

I was wondering the same thing - figured our first trailer, bought used might not still have the ladder if someone broke or lost it. But our new one did not have one either.

They would be more than willing to sell us one tho'!

You can go to walmart and they have bed rails are 36" wide X 17" tall. then there are two legs that form the lower part of teh L that slide under the bed.

I have also seen bed rails that have push buttons allowing to adjust the width from 18" to 48".

If all else fails you can stack 30 packs of beer...

Ditto the bed rail here. I found a rail that was made for a baby's bed at a garage sale. The kids might be at the point now of not falling out, but I may as well leave it there. When we first bought it everyone that slept in it fell out.

My DS fell out one night, bounced off the lower bunk and hit the floor. When I got back there he was sound asleep on the floor. Another night I was sleeping in the lower bunk with DD11 on the top. At one point her blanket fell off and landed on me, waking me up. I realized that the top half of her body was draped over the edge. I was lying in bed, holding her head up with one hand, trying to figure out how to get out of bed and put her back without dropping her.

Check baby stores or garage sales. They are good to have. I also figured I could anchor a net on one end of the bunk that hooked into place at the other end. They could climb in and fasten the net behind them.

Next time anyone buys a new camper and there is a minimally expensive "extra" that you want......tell the dealer you will be more than happy to make the deal once they throw that item in as a "freebie". Our 5th wheel didn't come with a stove top cover and I told the dealer that if he couldn't throw it in, I would go somewhere that would.

Mine did not come with one and the ones I could find at Camping World seemed too big or designed for the front bunk of drivable rv.

I ended up making mine from hard maple I had around. It doubles as a bed rail also so I could stop worrying about that.
