Is there still an EVC rental location on the Boardwalk?

First time posting in this section of Disboards so hello to all!

I read somewhere that there is/was/used to be a scooter rental company on the Disney Boardwalk where you could rent a scooter rather than renting from Disney or having one delivered. Does anyone know if that's still the case? I couldn't find confirmation online one way or the other.

I am traveling in 3 weeks with my extended family and both of my parents may need a scooter, but they want to see how they do without one first. We are staying at the Boardwalk so if there is a rental company onsite still that would be a great convenience.

Any help would be much appreciated!

I know there are golf carts to rent.. try giving the Boardwalk Villas people a call. I'm sure they would know more.

I believe Buena Vista Scooters has a location on the Boardwalk. I haven't used them or know if that is their only location (if not they may have limited supply right there). They will also deliver to WDW resorts. The contact info is near the end of post #2 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread pinned near the top of this forum.

Check Buena Vista's website - and contact them via phone - Like @lanejudy, it's my understanding that they do still have ECV rentals there. (Bonus tip: keep your rental vendors contact info in your phone while at WDW - including information like after hours phone numbers, and what to do if the scooter dies after hours)

Generally speaking, Buena Vista has a good rep here.

Yes they still have one on the Boardwalk (it is the same place where you rent the bicycles). If you are there earlier in the day they may have a sign at the desk to head over to the one of the food stands to get help (I guess those guys do double duty)

Hmm, I was on the boardwalk in January and there were a few people riding around on golf carts. I assumed there was a rental nearby.

Golf Carts or Surrey Bikes? We are DVC owners and stay in the Boardwalk area every year and have for many, many years. I have never seen a Golf Cart there and they do not rent them there. But they do rent Surrey Bikes on the Boardwalk and you see lots of them out on the Boardwalk.

We saw 2 full on electric golf carts with 4 people sitting in them.

Was it guests driving the golf carts, or CMs? I've read that BWI will use golf carts to transport guests to SAB because the pool at BWI was closed for refurb. I didn't pay much attention at the time, but possibly that is what you saw. I've never stayed at BWI so I haven't paid much attention to what's available for rent.
