Is there somewhere to check cabin availability?

I am ready to book our land/sea for Feb 2006. Got a GREAT quote from Costco - $900 less than DCL/$200-300 less than everyone else!!
I am booking a cat 10. Is there a site where I can look to see what cabins are still available? I checked on DCL, but the only choice they are giving me is deck 7. It could be that is all that is available, but I would like to go to a little lower deck so that any rough seas don't affect us too much.
Thanks for all the help!

Did you put in a pseudo-reservation for the lower decks on the DCL site and get a statement that only guaranteed status was available? or was there a different indicator that let you know that those were not available?

I wasn't given any choice after the choice of category. It did show me a diagram of the ship and I was able to look at the different decks that had Cat 10 rooms, but it wouldn't let me do anything with them.

To add to my stress I received another quote that wasn't as good, but has a 7 day hold on one of the secret porthole rooms. Now how do I get that room with the lower quote???? UGH !!! The options just keep coming !!!

Try Sams Club or priceline, you can put info in and it will show available rooms for some levels. I'm not sure what to do about the secret porthole other than to release your hold and then get costco to get it for you.

I usually check www.bestpricecrusies.com. There you go into a pretend reservation for the date you have selected. Then, go into the category you want. Then, you'll see a list of available cabins. If the one you want is not there, go to the bottom and there is a place to enter a cabin #. It will then take you to a booking screen if its available. Cancel out and then contact costco and book. If its not available, it will tell you no rooms left in this category.

p.s. the same thing happened to me last year when I booked my spr. All I wanted was a quote from someone, and they put a hold on the room! I didn't end up going with them, told them I didn't want the room, and I think it took them almost a week to 10 days to release the hold. Maybe they thought they could sell it to someone else so why release it? I don't know, but luckily for me, another spr was available (i couldn't wait that long) and was able to get it from DU.

Travelocity.com is quick to navigage and gives the available cabin info. I assume your're referring to a 7 night cruise - I tried February 3 & 4 nights and they were the same price as DCL.

Be sure to request your cabin when you make your reservations. In my opinion The guarantee is not the way to go. We are disappointed with the deck Disney has placed us on, and they have been less than cooperative in helping change the situation. My mistake for not understanding what "guarantee" meant. The word guarantee is somewhat misleading. Good Luck! :)

Yes, the cruise portion is a 3 night, but I have been pricing out the land/sea pkg. DCL is $1000 higher than my latest quote!

MickeyB63 - The TA told me the same thing. She said pick a cabin and we can try to change it if we want to, but you don't want to be at Disney's mercy - You may wind up on deck 1. (Heard it was noisy) The TA is willing to waitlist me for a deck 5 if one opens, otherwise we are now sitting on deck 2.

Works for me !!

Thanks for all the help.
