Is there something on the DIS that just super annoys you?

1. Duplicate threads on the same topic. IE, how slow the DIS was when it was first upgraded. It's helpful to look over a few pages to see if the topic is already going.

2. Any thread ending in the word "ever." I skip them all.

They're just off the top of my head. :teeth:

Threads with more than two question marks / exclamation points at the end of the title. Even two is a bit pushing it for me, but I'll give the benefit... but 6 of them in the title????????????????? Why!

That drives me crazy as well. And it always seems like those are the ones that contain posts with multiple exclamation points/question marks after every single sentence. Argh.

But in such a good way. ;) Photography is a hobby of mine (as are the Foos) and I managed to combine the two during the past year when an equally-crazy friend and I saw them at 7 different shows. This is one of my favorite photos ever..

Hair!

Great photo! Thanks for posting that - the detail is suberb.

I love photography as well - just negotiated an agreement to replace my Canon 350D with the 450D.:woohoo: It will cost me!!

I just thought of one...

really interesting threads that seem to just go..............................

Earlier someone mentioned Strunk and White's book.

It made me remember at school at the end of the year [10th grade] my English Honor's teacher made us learn it.
Sigh..I felt so dumb. I was like "how does this make sense?"

Hmm, never used in much in high school.

Used it a little in college when typing term papers.

became really aware of it when working, as we had in built into word processing software and had to use it before submitting anything!

Ooh, I got one. Giving other DISers false hope. A few examples that I've seen. I paraphrased them because I don't feel like using the search that takes 5 hours

OP: I'm going to WDW on July 4th. What are the crowds like?

P#1: Oh, it's sort of crowded but it's still fine!

P#2: We loved it! We didn't wait more than 20 minutes

Or another one

OP: My DD is shy. She has trouble making friends, and her grades are kind of slipping. Her teacher says she won't answer questions in class, and she doesn't like presenting her projects. What is happening?

P#1: Your kid is probably gifted/talented!

P#2: Oh yeah, definitely!

P#3: Gifted/talented kids are always like that!

*****, please. [/Chris Crocker]

If there were anything on the DIS that super annoyed me, I wouldn't be here. Seriously, there are plenty of websites out there that really annoy me (like Foxnews.com) so I just don't go there. Life's too short to spend time surfing websites I don't like.

And to think we were thought to be one in the same. Pffft. :snooty:

;)

The fact that us west coasters are treated like 2nd class citizens LOL. Hey my park was the original dream and YES I DO like it better.

Lately all the women who when faced with enormous signs their husbands are cheating on them log on here to ask if it is ok to be upset, snoop, confront or get a spine. Then when they get it pointed out to them that hey these things aren't adding up and you need to get to the bottom of it they come back after the conversation saying it was just an emotional affair, it never crossed THAT line, my DH is DIFFERENT and this is all in the past now. Ummmm yeah ok Hillary go run for senate now. I just shake my head.

Sorry Monique but :scared1: You can't just expect women who are married, have children, etc. to just pick up and moved based on advice received online or even when confronted with undeniable evidence. Denial is a process that needs to be worked through, just like denial after a death. Who wants to believe the worst of their spouse (or children, parents, etc.)? Give these women a break -- they're hurting, scared and possibly already have low self-esteem issues which are compounded by even lower self-esteem because they're wondering why they weren't good enough, etc. It's a long road from denial to anger -- some take that journey faster than others.

Wow, this is a long thread now!!! Is this a clique? :)

I will add that I get annoyed by people who criticize places they've never even been to. I see it all the time, it can be a different themepark or resort or restaurant or whatever. I don't see how someone can have an opinion about a place they know nothing about!

People who think their OPINION is fact. People who can't/won't apologize when they know they are wrong or have overreacted. Is it really so hard to say I'm sorry?!

What I don't like about The Dis is that many of the people here

seem to be holier than thou

never make mistakes

are ALWAYS honest and have never lied in their life

have never walked away with an extra dollar in their pocket from the cashier

have never ever thought about reusing refillable mugs

always report their ebay sales to the IRS

have 100K saved up for each of their children for college

can feed a family of 6 on a grocery budget of $40 per week

they eat 6 servings of fresh fruits & vegetables every day

donate thousands of dollars to charities each year

and are perfect in every way and are free of any human faults

:laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:
