Is there ONE thing (maybe a little odd) that you always have to do at Disney?

I have so many traditions I will try and list them all.
I make sure to get to each of the Outlet stores at the beginning and end of each trip. Last year I stopped at the Belz outlet on my last day and they were having their annual tent sale. I will make sure to book my vacation from now on according to this event.
In MK I walk in and stare at "my castle" for a few minutes before going anywhere else.
In Epcot my fist stop is always Mexico for a fiesta Margarita. (my mom didn't name me Margaret for nothing)
In MGM I have to go on R&R and roll the marbles on the door. My family has tried to hold my arms but I can't go on the ride until I roll those marbles.
I don't have any traditions yet for AK, but my past two visits I have gone directly into RFC and gotten an orange margarita then entered the park through the RF gate.

I don't drink at all at home, but enjoy my margaritas at WDW. Maybe that is why I have taken 5 trips already to FL and have two more planned for this year. Ouch, I am a WDW alcoholic. The 12 step program might include avoiding the temptation, so I guess I will always be a WDW alcoholic. Peggie

I don't think it's really all that odd, but I have to ride the TTA (which is and always will be the WEDWay to me!) with my mom. Two years ago I went to WDW for the first time without her (a quick weekend trip with a friend). So I drew a pic of mom on the hotel room notepad, took it to MK, and made my friend take a pic of me and "mom" on the TTA to send to her.

Okay, yeah, that IS weird...:p

Aww...I hope that if DD ever goes without me, she'd do the same thing! DD and I have also made a tradition of the TTA. We wave to the people coming toward us (and since we're at WDW, everyone ALWAYS waves back!), we try to sit like the crooked little people on the sign in your car, we buy a bag of popcorn and have our own travelling dining car. She's 13 and I love the fact that she'll still do this with me.

DD also has to roll the beads on the door at RnR. We sing along with CoP. And we always take a picture of her going into one of the "offices" at Muppetvision 3D. There are probably more...we love WDW traditions.

We don't do this anymore because I'm too old for it, but for the first 3 trips, we would always go to the Honey I Shrunk....playset. I was about 6 our first trip, and then 7 or 8 for the next two. I would always get a picture of me sitting on the ant. What's really strange is that in two of those three, I'm wearing the same Minnie Mouse t-shirt and we didn't even realize it until I pointed it out when I was 12!!

But we always have to ride the TTA! And CoP where I sit in total embarrassment while my parents sing the song...

Oh, and I gotta get that turkey leg!!

There's at least on tradition I have in every park...plus one hotel....
Typically we stay at the Yacht Club and every night I sit on my balcony...it's typically pretty late but I can hear the pianos coming from Jelly Rolls and the lights of the Boardwalk are beautiful....when I'm sitting on that balcony is when I really feel like I'm home...
MK: One of my biggest traditions there is having to eat in Tony's. Just something about that place is wonderful. I have to ride TTA at least 3 times....possibly the lamest ride there but for me I'm overflowed with so many memories. Then CoP...at least 2...and I dont care how many people are in there...I sing on the top of my lungs...And no matter what...my sis and I have to get egg rolls from Adventure Land...
Epcot: The first and last right is Figment. I can't get enough of it and can't leave without it being the last thing I do...
Also I have to go play with the jumping waters...the trips not complete until someone gets wet...
MGM: I can not miss the backlot tour...and I always go play at least one game in Pizza Planet....

So many great memories....

EPCOT: I always insist that when we visit Italy, we throw coins in the fountain, to insure that we will come back.

MK: We always seem to end our vacation in this park. DH makes us wait to get our hands stamped before we leave the last night, because he says "you only get your hand stamped if you are coming back, right?" :teeth: The CM's always look us a little weird, but have always stamped us.

Now, I'm thinking I should get pictures of these events and come up with traditions for the other parks. Cute thread.

Oh this thread is wonderful!!! I love reading everyone's traditions. ::yes:: We begin and end our time in the parks at MK, but I think a lot of people do that. Something we did last trip that I want to keep up is to take a photo with Mickey in each of the parks. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

1st thing we do after checking in & looking around the hotel, we go to Downtown Disney & World of Disney, let our kids buy their autograph books. DS7 told me "I don't think you need to buy me an autograph book this year, I just wanna ride the rides":( :sad1:  my baby's growing up!!!:( :sad1:  .

We have always eaten @ Crystal Palace with Pooh & Friends, it's just such a light & airy place - just makes us happy.

Can't think of anything else right now.

We have to take a picture of the kids with the giant troll statue in the store in Norway.

I have the roll the marbles on Rockin' Rollercoaster too!

Our big tradition is to take pics in front of the Tikis in Adventure land. We do it every single trip! My mom started it on her honeymoon in 1972 and DH and I did it on our honeymoon in 2002. It's a cool collection of pics!

Oh! Me too! How could I have forgotten that??

We have to go to MK, take a grinning picture just indside the park and ride PoC first. We also have to spend our last day at MK, ride PoC last and take a frowning picture under the exit sign by city hall.

Get a family picture taken in front of the MK and eat at Liberty Tree Tavern for Dinner.

Count us in as another couple that always rides PoC first at MK. When I was dating my DH I asked him what his favorite ride at Disney was and he said "Pirates." I told him, "Me too!!" It seemed sort of strange that out of all the possibilities we both picked that ride. We joke that unlike other couples we have never had an "our song" unless you count the song from PoC! To this day one or the other of us will at odd, contented, moments (usually while driving) start humming the theme song until we get to the refrain "Yo Ho, Yo Ho, a pirate's life for me" which we sing loudly in unison in our best shiver me timbers pirates voices. So, of course that's our first ride when we get to MK and we always sing along during the ride :-)

We may get to WDW, check into the hotel and go places on property ... like dinner and Downtown Disney, but no one is allowed to go on any rides until we go on IASW first! The first full day of our vacation is always dedicated to the MK and the first ride is always IASW!

We line up and snake our way around and through the Tiki Fountains in Adventureland. First one squirted by one of the fountains is out and we do it until there is one last dry person who is declared the winner. :p Winner decides where to go and what to do next! LOL!

We get chocolate covered strawberries at Ghiradelli and for our hotel room we buy a container of milk chocolate and white chocolate chunks of chocolate! It's the only time I eat white chocolate and it's the only white chocolate I like. I don't even like their white chocolate bars, just the chunks. :p

Someone started a thread here about decorating their car for the trip, now I want to do that! :p

Care to share when this might be? :teeth: Belz is always one of our stops, too, along with CoP, Splash, Buzz, RnR, and .... DUMBO! :)

It's not weird, but I have to get a churro on every trip......YUMMY....:D

When we stay at WL, I have to go to the 6th floor to a certain window at night and try to catch a glimpse of MK fireworks!

I always have to get something to "remember the trip by"

You see it started like this. My first trip was in 2001, with my Mom and sister. Well, we went into a gift shop, one by Splash, and I saw this Pooh bear, one that talked and laughed when you hugged it. I fell in love, instantly, and had to get it. So now, I look at it, and it reminds me of that trip. So the next trip I got lots of others things, but wanted one thing that I would look at and instantly think of my second trip, when I saw the Mickey Bear, I knew that was it, again it was instant love. Last trip, it was the first picture that I bought from Disney, me with Sorcerer Mickey, and a nice frame, with the Mickey icon in the corners, I have it next to my computer think of that trip every day. Can't wait to see what next Decembers big reminder is.

I didn't do this the first trip, I started the second, and did it the last time (third trip) also, I always get a Christmas ornament.

I am trying to think of new things that I am going to start doing everytime though.

Every morning we walk from the Polynesian to the Grand Floridian. That is such a beautiful walk. The magic starts before we even get to the Magic Kingdom. The first day we go early so that we can be chosen for the guest family for the opening of the Magic Kingdom. Then the first ride HAS to be the Haunted Mansion. We have to see Scoop for his pin talks. I have to have at least one meal at the Columbia Harbor House. Their fried fish platter is the greatest. At Epcot I have to see the choir at the Candle Light at Christmas time. We always go the first 3 weeks in December. At MGM the first ride is always the Tower of Terror and then the Great Movie ride, followed by the Muppets. Always in that order.

Love this thread. Love knowing there are people out there as kooky as me! LOL

We always take DD's pic inside Minnie's house in front of an opened refrigerator door. We can see how tall she is getting! LOL

I always pause and look at the Castle and say a prayer of Thanks to God for Walt Disney and his dream for families to enjoy the happiest place on earth!

I always ride COP and sing the song and ride the Wedway people mover.

I always have to find my tile and Dan Murphy's at Epcot.

I always to seem to "have to" cry when leaving the last night. God, that it one of the saddest moments. I always ask DH if he'll promise to bring me back. (Otherwise, I AIN'T leaving!!)

WDWHound, I love your thoughts!
Kallison, you CRACKED me up! I may have to do that to DD!
