Is there much of a difference in food choices in Goofy's & Minnie's?

We've done Goofy's before, never Minnie's. When I called about pricing, it was only $2 difference for breakfast between the 2 for my dates. (I really thought Minnie's would be cheaper than that?).

So now I'm torn on which to do. I'm cool with the characters at both, just curious if the food is as good at Minnie's. IIRC, they have a much smaller selection?

TIA! :goodvibes

Yes, Minnie has the smaller food selection by far.

My US friends describe it as "school cafeteria style." Standard breakfast items, the most special thing were omelettes made to order. It wasn't that bad in my eyes (although I have read some very negative reports), but if you're leaving the characters and the location aside we all prefer Goofy's over Minnie's.

:wave2: Hi Mandi! When are you guys going to DL? We are trying to plan a trip for the first or second week in June- to use our GAD vouchers. Prices for those weeks for hotels are not what I'd like for them to be and Hojos hasn't updated with any new entertainment rates for June. I check for it everyday.

We've never done Minnie's. We did do the Princess breakfast a few years ago when it was at the Plaza. It was okay. Cafeteria style typical breakfast foods. I don't know if it's changed since then.

We do love Goofy's though. I've thought so many times of trying out the Lilo and Stitch (now Mickey and Friends) but we also want the great variety of food they offer at Goofy's. My kids are picky and love the fact that there is a kid food station at Goofy's. Everyone's happy at Goofy's.

Anyways, nice to see you around Mandi! Gosh, I was thinking all of us Disney lovin' NWFD wives should get together for coffee or something sometime just so we can talk to till the cows come home about Disney!! LOL!

Vala- Thanks for the info! :) Cafeteria food is not what I'm looking for at that price. :lmao:

Kelly- Totally drop me a line if you get the ladies together. I'm sorry I missed the last NWFD get together. I was working that night or would have loved to have met you up with you guys. Anyway, we're going May 23-28. Trying to avoid June b/c that's when WOC is scheduled to open, which means crazy crowds. :) This will be our little guys first trip so we're shooting for low to moderate crowd weeks. We're going to do Legoland on the last day of our trip. Never done that, but our 5yo son is way into Legos so hoping it won't be a disappointment. We're squeezing in the 5 days prior at Disney though, so at least I won't feel too bad if LL is just so-so. Anyway, thanks again for the info. I'll be calling & booking Goofy's then. :)

Very different food choices. Our family likes Minnie's better but Goofy's should have better...does that make sense? For me personally the best part of Goofy's was the amazing bacon...but everything else was just meh for me. Guess I like cafeteria style food better. LOL

If you are going there strictly for the food, then GK is a much better choice. Not only do they have a bigger selection of food but the quality is also a lot better. My vote goes toward GK :thumbsup2

Goofy's has more of a selection, more unusual foods and deserts. Minnie's has more of your standard breakfast fair. Eggs, bacon, sausage, made to order omlettes, pancakes, french toast, waffles, potatoes, pastries, lots of fruit, lots of drinks, cereal. Minnie's has serve your own beverages which I really like, I don't have to rely on the waiter to refill my drink, when I want a refill I just go get it.

We have done both several times and have had better overall experiences with Minnie's. MUCH better character interaction. Last time we went to Goofy's we were done with our meal and had not seen 1 character. We complained and I think we ended up seeing 2 characters that meal. We didn't want to just sit there and stare at each other waiting for another character. It was a pretty big disappointment when we spent nearly $100 on breakfast. We also did Minnie's that same breakfast and I think we interacted with about 10 characters. It was wonderful. Night and day, really.

Aww...sorry to hear that you didn't have a good experience with GK. It was actually the opposite for me. Even though M&F has a lot more characters, a lot of them kept missing our section over and over again and they seemed to always be in a rush. The characters at GK lingered at the tables a lot longer and seemed to interact better with the kids :confused3

Hmm something to think about, then.

Interestingly enough, when I first called to book other reservations a few days back, I was quoted $21.99 for adults, $11.99 for kids at Minnie's, with Goofy's only being $2 more for our dates (May 23-27), not including tax & tips. However, when I called yesterday and booked Goofy's, I was told that they have no idea what the cost will be and that no CM can see the cost past late April at the moment. WTH?! She said that current prices were $31.99 adult and $16.99 for Goofy's right now, and she'd expect it to be at least as expensive, if not more. So now I'm not sure what to do. When it was only a $2 difference, no biggie. But it seems more like a $8-$10 for adults difference. Even if I used LMT for vouchers, the cheapest I can do Goofy's for our family of 6 is $141. :scared1: That's a week worth of groceries! Minnie's would be $113. Slightly better, but still $$$. Denny's is starting to sound better and better. :rotfl:

This is what I really love about Minnie's. Plus they have bottled drinks and you take it to go.

Hmm... 31.99 for Goofy does sound right for off-season, but usually it is more. $ 23.99 would be as cheap as I never saw it before.

That's what I thought too when he quoted those prices to me. That's one of the main reason I contemplated doing Goofy's. I guess I must have gotten a CM that didn't know what he was talking about. :confused3
