Is there Gluten in Whiskey? Sept trip: 9 days, 3 boys, 1 urgent care visit NEWx2 11/7

I have managed to read your whole TR over the last couple of days. :woohoo: It is great! I wish I could have joined in earlier.

I'm am really sorry to hear about the ferry situation after MNSSHP. It just makes no sense to shut down the monorails before the party ends. I don't understand it!

Sounds like you guys had great luck with the rides!

Such a weird interaction with the CM! Disney sets the bar so high, those awkward things really stick out. At Six Flags, that would be a really nice CM :lmao:

Great castle pictures! I love the one of your DS and DH watching. Sorry about the big head, but it's still a good pic :rotfl2:

Yeah, what's up with people having heads and messing up my pictures?! So selfish!

Yikes! Sorry your night ended badly! I do not do well with crowds either, but I usually take it out on DH, DD usually get by unscathed. :lmao:

I don't know what they're thinking shutting the monorail down early-especially when guests are required to pay extra for the party. :sad2:

I enjoyed the for-dramatic-purposes-stretch. Can't wait to hear about Dollywood! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I don't take it out on DH only because he learned a long time ago to keep quiet and stay out of my way in such situations . Ari and I are too much alike!

Back from Dollywood--report coming up...sometime!

Sounds like a great party night at MK except for the ferry incident. Thankfully it didn't rain again.
I can't wait to hear about Dollywood! I love Gatlinburg/PF. I haven't been to Dollywood in about 6 years or more so I can't wait to see pictures!

I didn't take as many Dollywood pictues as I meant to, but I have a few to post!

I love the costumes and MNSSHP pics.

Yay on BTMRR opening back up just for you! Oh no on the Buzz situation...am glad it all worked out in the end.

Oh I hope you get to watch the whole of Wishes as it is such an amazing show.

Thanks!

Yes--watching Wishes is definitely on the list for next year...especially since we won't be doing a Halloween party--there was just too much nighttime stuff to fit in this trip!

Phew, caught up! It was fun reading along!

After replying on one comment, I realized that I'd have a lot of individual comments over the next 15 pages, so here's one post of what I remember I was going to say:

* Loved all the picture comments..."Bunch of cars doing stunt things"...haha!
* Glad your waitress was looking out for you on the whiskey. Our Le Cellier water just accused us of being on a "fake honeymoon"...
* "Grow the chicken" :lmao:
* Can't wait to go on Star Tours! It opened a couple of weeks after we left in May, so we didn't get to go on it. DW is going with a friend this May, so she'll go on it, but I told her not to tell me about it until we go next October. It was hard to try to skim through those parts of your report :)

I'm sure I wanted to say more, but I was too late to the party to comment along the way. I'll keep up next time :goodvibes

Thanks for reading!!

I'm impressed that you can make yourself avoid spoilers for Star Tours! Sadly, I am not so strong, and I knew pretty much everything about it before we ever went.

Sigh...I am jealous of your MNSSHP time (minus the ferry wait). Ours was just not good. Not good at all. And I really wanted it to be wonderful. I shudder just thinking about it!

I remember those ominous clouds and lightning. We were at DTD that night and were trying to get back to the van before the bottom dropped out, which I don't think it ever did. Still, those clouds looked nasty!

Oh no! Sorry about your MNSSHP...I'm behind on my trip report reading--have you gotten to that part yet? I have to go check...

:welcome:

Yeah--I was surprised at how poorly organized/handled the monorail shutdown was, too...it wasn't the first party or anything, and I really expected them to have things more streamlined--as streamlined as they could be without a monorail at least! Oh well!

Back from Dollywood! I won't be doing the super detailed trip report I envisioned, partly because I wound up leaving my camera behind and just taking a few pictures with my iphone (I really need a cheap point and shoot that I can fit in a pocket for such situations!). But I'll do a short write-up about it at least...we had fun!

Tonight I'm off to catch up on reading trip reports and then I'll try to get my last day + Dollywood stuff up in the next few days!

Dave HATES the Country Bear Jamboree. Like, really hates it. Like, he says, "you'd have to PAY me to get to me to watch the Country Bear Jamboree again." So when the kids saw this float they were all, "take a picture for Daddy!"

The first time Joyce and I watched CBJ together (umpteen trips ago), I thought it was OK, but I knew Joyce LOVED it. I think what turned the corner for me was when I looked up the lyrics. Now it's a MUST for both of us, and and we just crack up singing along...although probably what gets us the most is a line I misheard as "and her name was definitely Mary". haha, I literally just giggled singing it in my head. :rotfl:

I was just reading your thread- we're GF too AND we were AT Disney the exact same time you were- at POP!!! I'm sure we crossed paths a million times!! :goodvibes

I know i am WAY late in joining in here but I took a few days to read your whole report and really enjoyed it. Your boys are adorable and have the most amazing eyes !!
Yeah, the late night parties are tough on my guys as well. It wouldn't be SO bad if you could just get back to your resort right after .. it's that hour or so trying to muddle your way through people and strollers that makes it so hard.

Great report ! Thanks for sharing. :)

Hi there. I just jumped on board when I saw you all are gluten free. I have a gluten allergy. My trip last February 2011 was my first G-Free. I absolutely loved it since I got to eat things that I normally can't get while eating out around home. Things like fries, burgers WITH buns and chicken pot pie. I also really enjoyed meeting the chef at every restaurant we went to. My goal this time is to get my picture taken with every chef =P

I just read your review of the chicken fingers, which I have yet to try. I've also never been to Columbia Harbor House so I'm looking forward to getting fries and chicken fingers there.

Just for your own peice of mind...I know it's hard when you don't have a direct physical reaction to gluten to be absolutely sure there is no gluten in your food. I get sick when even a crumb touches my food. I only got sick once durring our trip and that was because I got BBQ sauce from the condiments bar at Flame Tree in AK. So Disney is pretty diligent with making sure things aren't cross contaminated. I was so impressed with Disney.

Anyhow, very much looking forward to reading the rest of your TR.

I just found your tr - I'm hoping to be in wdw this Sept for our first gluten free trip. I really enjoyed reading this! But what happened on your last day? And at Dollywood? I know I just started reading a few days ago, but don't leave me hanging! ;)

Fellow Georgian here! I enjoyed your trip report--thanks for sharing! My dad is considering going gluten-free so I was especially interested in your dining reports. :)
