we wil be staying in the middle of july for 5 nights with a 4 year old and 18 month triplets. i really want a break from dishes. is there maid serv.?
if so what type? how often?
is there a broom in the cabin? with 18 month olds they spend a lot of time on the floor, should i bring my own?
any tips for anything?

daily maid service.

all the dvc resort have broom and vaccum cleaners - so I would think the cabins would too - although I don't know for sure - too long ago to remember.

Too long for me to remember about the broom/vacuum also but the housekeeper will do the same as in a regular room...make beds, clean the bathroom and put in fresh towels, vacuum.

There is a whole forum with FW experts on the DIS. They'll know about the broom.

Have fun. It sounds like a perfect place to be with your busy family! :thumbsup2

There is maid service daily.

I know there was a vaccuum, not sure about the broom.

We were there this past Christmas and yes, there was a broom in the linen closet;) The mouse~keeping was GREAT! Each cabin has a dishwasher and they would load it and run it for us every morning! This was the only place also that we received towel animals every day!

sorry i JUST saw your reply to me!
we will miss each other :( I will be there around 7/16th :(
maybe next time though! I LOVE DISNEY and will be returning as often as possiblE

Yes - great mousekeeping service!!!

Just like another poster said - they will actually load up your dishwasher and run it for you. You don't even have to put the dishes in the sink for them to do this - we left out some bowls on the table and they even put those dishes in the dishwasher and ran it. I was not expecting this to happen but it surely was nice everyday to come home to clean dishes. One day we didn't unload it when we came back from the park - guess what - mousekeeping unloaded the clean dishes and put them back into the cabinets.

Bathrooms were always well stocked - left us LOADS of mickey accessories - soaps, shampoos, etc. because she thought the kids would like them when they returned home.

Towel animals everyday doing something. One day all my little girls stuffed animals were sitting on the bed listening to a book being "read" by a towel animal -- so cute. That was one of the things we all looked forward to daily was to see what the great mousekeeping lady thought of for that day.

Our room was swept by the mousekeeping lady too - or - she just used a cloth of some kind to pick up any dirt brought in.

We love the cabins. Some get the idea that since it is "a cabin" it must be cheap - NOT! They do not scrimp in any way on the mousekeeping service.

We were surprised that not only did they have maid service, but they had someone come by & cut the grass, someone come blow debris off our deck, and someone who comes to clean out the grill.

We found that with 6 of us we weren't able to get up & out to the parks in the mornings so we'd sleep in, hang around the cabins, make lunch & take a nap then go to the parks later to take advantage of the EMHs. Therefore we wouldn't always let the maids in timely, but they did leave us towels & stuff on our deck in a bag. Later they would come in & make the beds & stuff when we were gone.
