Is there currently a "gift" for doing a DVC tour?

My husband and I are strongly considering buying into DVC. We've been renting points for years, and now that we have 2 little kids, we really prefer to stay in 1 bedroom DVC villas over anything else at Disney.

Anyway, we're going in September and staying at Old Key West and the Poly, renting points from a friend. We're at Old Key West on our arrival day and not doing a park. We get in around noon. I figured this would be a good time to do a DVC tour, especially if there is a good "gift with tour." Anyone know what the current incentive is, if there is one? Also to make sure you get said incentive, is there a certain way you have to "arrange" the tour (online, in person, over the phone, etc) Does my husband have to go with me, or can he stay with our 3 year old son at our resort? I'm the one who is really making this decision anyway

When we went to one of these meetings last summer, they wanted both my husband and I to be there. They also gave us a $100 gift card which was a nice perk.

When I was staying at BLT they slipped a letter under the door inviting us to a tour with a $100 incentive and 3 fastpasses. I would call and ask if they would be providing anything for your time and then you could schedule when to have your tour. I'm not sure if both you and your husband have to be there or not. I know that the lady who talked with us didn't seem to think I had any say in the matter even though the hotel was booked under my name. We get things in the mail all the time addressed to my boyfriend and never to me.

When we stayed at the BWI in Dec. of last year they were offering a $100 Disney gift card and three anytime FP. Both my husband and I had to attend and they sent a van to pick us up and bring us back to the hotel. The tour was at the Saratoga Springs resort. Since your are interested in buying into it you should have no problems but we were not impressed with the really hard sell that was given. I was curious but it's not how we like to travel and I was very upfront with them about it. I swear they called me over a dozen times after we got home and only after very firmly telling them I was not interested did the phone calls stop.

We got an invitation slipped under our door last time we were at the WL and the incentive was the $100 giftcard and we did get three fastpasses each too. We are pretty sure we were targeted with that offer because we were going 1-2 times a year for a few years. To increase your chances of getting this offer, I would go to DVC's site and request an informational DVD so you are on their radar. I don't think they will give you the $100 giftcard if you just ask.

At WL last week, a print (drawing of Mickey & Friends at a Polynesian bungalow) was left in our room with an invite to tour. Offer was $100 gift card.
