Is there anything related to Cars3 at DCA?

i wasn't planning on taking the kids to see Cars 3 at the movies because I didn't like 2 and the reviews haven't been great. Is there anything new at DCA related to it that makes it worth seeing? We haven't been since 2014 and there wasn't anything related to 2, has that changed? My DD needs to see a lot of movies to understand characters at the parks so I'm wondering if just Cars would be ok in this franchise? Thanks!

Cruz Ramirez is now a car you can visit at the Cozy Cone Motel. The stores will have Cars 3 merchandise.

Cars 3 was wonderful!! My 11 year old and I just agreed to pretend Cars 2 didn't happen.

We're considering a trip back to CA/DLR with the hope Cruz will stick around as a meet and greet! We love her.

Lightning was supposed to get a new paint job to match the movie. I probably wouldn't notice.

The reviews I read basically said they made jokes for the adult audience and kids were bored. I doubt they'll care or notice any minor changes in the park to match this movie.

I also thought 3 was better than 2 but I'm actually not a fan of any of them to be honest. Cars is my least favorite Pixar movie but I still see everything with the kids just because I guess. Well that and my brother is a movie theater manager so it doesn't sting as bad when you get the hook up. Lol

Thanks! How important is it to have seen the first two movies before watching 3? Will DD enjoy the movie if we go and see it before she's seen the first two? Or is it worth waiting and seeing in order?

I think the first one would be good to see, introduces a lot of the characters. I've only heard the 2nd one (kids watching it in the car) and I don't recall anything being terribly important about it in regards to Cars 3.

Cars and Cars 3 storylines tie in directly to each other, Cars 2 can be forgotten. If you plan on watching only one I'd make it the first. Having the movie Radiator Springs fresh in your mind and then walking into Cars Land is surreal. That said, I thought Cars 3 was a GREAT movie, uniting generations and some girl power in there too. My kids loved it too.

Hmmm, almost every review Ive read was positive. I'm sure there are a few bad ones but it seems most are praising it as a return to what made the original so good. I know my kids loved it and it rekindled their love of the franchise which they had kind of moved on from. It's certainly much better than the second movie which seemed more like a direct to video Mater movie more than anything else.

Other than not knowing who Cruz is, it shouldn't hinder anyone's enjoyment of Carsland.

As others have said, Cruz is there now. Lighting does have his new paint job. And the Carsland sign has been updated. Didn't go into any of the stores to see about merchandise.

As for the movie, we all LOVED Cars 3. Totally worth seeing. But yes, watch the original first. Cars 2 you can skip.

Haven't seen it, think it was a preview last time I was at DL/DCA. Won't make me cry like Toy Story 3 did, will it?
