Is There Any Hope At All?

So DH floated the idea of taking an adults only trip for F&W this year (at this late date, pretty last minute). We are thinking of about 5 nights, likely Monday to Saturday (toying with Nov 7 - 12 or so) and like everyone else that time of year we would like to rent points for a BC or BW stay.

I haven't checked David's for availability yet but is there any hope at all of getting a studio at either of those resorts? Our dates are somewhat flexible so it doesn't have to be those exact dates. I'm thinking our chances are slim to none.

Can anyone offer us any hope?

The 2nd most popular time of the year to DVC members (Food and Wine) in the most popular unit size (studio) at the most desirable resort for that time of the year, 2 months out?

Unless someone has an existing reservation they need to sell to cover an emergency, I'd say no.

For an adults-only trip, just stay in the BC. One trap I've noticed some DVC owners fall into is that they stop looking at the hotels as an option. Plenty of rooms available at the BC -- every view type is open.

Honestly:

No, there is no hope renting points, either via a private owner, but most especially not via a broker. You mention "checking David's for availability," which tells me you aren't an owner, but a renter. You would need an owner to waitlist, and there are people who have been on waitlists for single days in that time period for months.

DVC rental at the two most popular F&W resorts on 60 days notice just isn't happening.

As someone else said, if someone has a confirmed reservation that they can't use, it might go up for rental. But that's a huge maybe.

That's also Wine and Dine Marathon weekend-makes it even a bigger no.

My husband and I were looking to book just a quick weekend getaway between now and the end of the year. Every single DVC resort Studio was booked for the weekends through the end of the year when I looked. So we are now going in February 2017 instead.

I doubt you'll find anything.

Kirk: What would you say the odds are on our gettting a DVC rental unit?
Spock: It is difficult to be precise, Captain. I should say approximately 7824.7 to one.
Kirk: Difficult to be precise? 7824 to one? Spock: 7824.7 to one.
Kirk: That's a pretty close approximation.
Spock: I endeavour to be accurate.
Kirk: You do quite well.

I wish you good luck.

Just saw a woman post a last minute 1bd and studio cancellation (medical reasons) at Okw on a dvc fb page from 11/6-11/11... if that helps. Looks like she's charging $169 for the studio and $283 (wkdays) $336 (wknd) for the 1bd.

Most of the ressie is a 1bd, with maybe one night in the beginning in a studio. It's not bwv or bcv, but it's a room. If you need the persons info, feel free to pm me. I'll send you the link to FB page.

Thank you so much but we actually just booked a cash room at AS Sports. It won't be as nice but it looked like the only options we could even remotely afford were POFQ and AS Sports and ultimately decided that AS was about $700 cheaper and that would be a nice chunk of change to play with at F&W.

We also figured that without the kids the pool wouldn't be as big a deal and if we wanted to go to the pool that badly we would just go to the water park so AS sports it is for us.
