Is there any benefit in reserving Hotel and Rental Car through Southwest Airlines?

Do these reservations actually apply toward Rapid Rewards or anything?
When I say "hotel", I don't mean WDW resorts, but hotel for our stay in Tampa.

Some do apply towards Rapid Rewards. I get some credits for hotel stays while visiting my parents in Vermont and on our summer trip to DC last year.

If you are a member of Rapid Rewards, you might get rewards points for them, like the above poster said.

Also, all things being equal (i.e. they have prices that you can live with). I have found that the Customer Service I have received through Southwest has never been anything short of fantastic. So, to have them in your corner, so to speak, would be upside in my book.
