Starting to think about Christmas shopping for my parents ....always a hard one! They like wine so I thought wine of the month club would be a good idea...but probably not in the budget! Does anyone know of any out there that are good but not too pricey?!? thanks!!

Do you live 1)near your parents and 2) where there are meijer stores? If so you could create your own and deliver it. They usually have a cheap wine of the month or week (I don't really know which b/c I don't drink it.)

Just be aware that not all states allow wine delivery by mail (for example, MA does not :sad1: ). Before getting too deep into your search make sure that you can have it delivered to them.

What do you consider to be cheap for a Wine of the Month club?

We really like Bully Hill wines. They have a membership for $199 that gets you three bottles every quarter. They can only do it in states that they can mail to but they are listed.

Try Wine Shop at Home. I don't know where your parents live but that link has the states they deliver to.

They are a direct sales company. I've done several tastings with them. Those are a lot of fun and their wine is really good. 2 bottles a month is $30/mth. You can select reds, whites, or one of each. There is also a 4 bottles a month option for $60/mth.

If you live near them I second making your own basket. A great percentage of what you pay for a wine of the month club is shipping. It's also a pain because you have to be home to accept delivery.

My parents are hard to buy for too. I made a basket last Christmas for them that had all kinds of specialty food that I knew they would enjoy. I got wine, pancake mix, maple syrup, almond butter, jam, cooking sauce, chocolate, teas and other stuff I cant even remember. I reused a basket that I got from a work gift. I tied it up with cellophane and attched little stain-glass kayak's to the bow that look just like the ones they have. I think it cost $75 in total.
