With a car purchase, most dealers will not allow the entire amount to be charged on a credit card, mostly because of its fees.

How about DVC purchase? Let's say if I want to charge $30,000 on my credit card for VGF (assuming my credit limit allows), would DVC take it?

With 2% airline rewards back, there will be quite a bit of reward points to collect too.

I've paid for our direct points with credit cards and there never was even a hint of a limit. It's a little different for a broker who's working on commission and would have to absorb the credit card fees - or else charge it back to the seller or buyer which probably wouldn't go over well. Disney takes cards for pretty much everything and the fees would be part of their business plan.

I really don't know about the total cost, it probably does depend on your credit limit. We put $5000 down on our initial purchase and another $5000 down a year later on an add-on. Yes, the rewards were nice. Too bad it was before the 2% card. We took advantage of the 6 months 0% and paid it off on time.

No limit, you can use different cards and you can have them stagger the charges over a several week period.

The thing that I wish that they would do is classify their merchant accounts as vacation or travel. Some credit cards give you double points for vacation or travel purchases.

We used a credit card in 2010 for our initial BLT purchase and then again in 2011 for our add on which were both direct from Disney. We had a total of 270 points and encountered no issues with charging them. It was definitely a nice bonus to get the "points" from the credit card along with the incentives offered at the time.

I bought in 1999 and used a credit card to get points. They split the charges in 2 so that I would not go over my credit limit. The first charge hit, I paid it with money from my savings and then then they put through the second charge.

We just used our Disney Chase Visa's to purchase VGF as they are offering 0% interest for 6 months(Disney Chase Visa) . The catch is only up to $10,000 per card purchase, so we used three cards and it was done just like we asked it to be. Plus we will be getting 2% back in Disney money.

That would be a LOT of Disney Dollars. :hyper:

:thumbsup2 Heck yeah!! Gosh, I am so tempted to call and add 40 GFV points and pay with our Disney Visa...can I do that w/out DH knowing...he'd have to sign closing papers though, right? :scratchin JK!

I'm sure Disney has negotiated a great rate to accept cards for every business unit they have, so accepting for DVC probably does not have an impact. I know I paid for my wedding at Disney on the credit card. Great boost of points!
