Is there a way to guarantee an early seating if you are on a wait list?

Last week I booked my cruise on the 7-Day Eastern, Feb 5, 2005 (WAHOO!!!!). I requested the first dinner seating since I have 2 young children. I was put in the second seating but I am on standby for the first. Does anyone know a way to ensure I get into the first seating or am I just out of luck?

Thanks for any info!

Katy

Make certain your request is on your reservation (call DCL and ask if it is noted). If you don't get main dining, as soon as you board go to the designated location on ship and request a change. They will try to accomodate you, IF there is an opening.

Good luck!

Not that this will help you but we liked the later seating for dinner. I'm not sure how old your kids are or when they eat at home but it really didn't matter when we ate. I liked latter because it didn't break up your day as muc. But it may be also because I'm used to eating from 7-8 or so. Well anyway I hope other recognize my stance and back out from Early to Late for ya so you can have Early.

We had the same concerns on our first cruise. However afterward we quickly realized that it was actually better for us to have the second seating. I know that it seems kinda late to wait for dinner, but you must remember that there is food available 24-7. So your children will NOT go hungry. Plus this is just our preference, but we kinda like going to the show first then dinner, it leads to better dinner conversation. Either way you will love your cruise. Good luck and have fun.

Yes, I know a way to ensure first seating. Rebook your cruise for a later date (or maybe even an earlier one!) where first seating is still open.

Otherwise, you MAY get first seating before your documents are released, or you MAY be able to switch when on the boat. But if first seating is a must, you need to book even earlier than you did.

(You have booked way early, and I'm guessing a lot of people will cancel and move dates - or be talked into Late Seating Is Better. I don't know if the waitlist is done sensibly on a first come/first served basis, but if so, I think your chances are good).

Hi Katy! We're on the 2.5 cruise too! Maybe we'll see you there! ;)
