Is there a way to automatically bank points at the banking deadline?

I don’t see any way to do this but it would be a nice offering. I’m assuming Disney potentially wouldn’t offer this because they stand to benefit from unused points. I do have a reminder for myself to bank by deadline but it would be nice to set up a contingency.

No automatic banking. You either have to log on to the member website or call MS to bank your points.

No automatic and honestly I would not want it. Nothing to do with DVC benefiting but rather it means that someone else is making a decision on an owners behalf that may not be what they want.

Even allowing an owner to set it up to be automatic could be an issue. An owner could decide one year they don’t want to bank but forgot and it happens. It has happened with people forgetting to cancel a waitlist and end up with something they didn’t need anymore.

Once banked, it can’t be reversed so leaving it in the hands of the owner is the best

I was thinking about having an option to bank automatically one minute before the banking deadline. Granted some might not want this because they may want to use the points In the next 4 months but for those of us who need to plan far in the future it would be a useful failsafe to losing points.

Just set an alarm/reminder on your phone or computer to remind you 4 months and a few days ahead.
That’s what I do but it’s still a minor thought in the back of my head that it’s something I need to do or lose points.

I would not want to try to bank at the last minute because the IT is so... "unreliable" is a nice way to put it. I would be afraid that the system would crash earlier that day. If your banking deadline happens to be on the same day that something big opens up, like the ability to purchase something or sign up for something, you would be... "screwed" is a not nice way to put it.

If DVC had an automatic banking option where you could set it up to bank one minute before the end of the last day for banking, the only certain outcome based on DVC's website history is that 80% of those setting up such banking would learn on the day after their banking window expires that no such banking has occurred, and DVC will be unable to find anything in their files to show that you ever made the request.

I hadn’t thought of it that way & I agree with you. It is a “pain” to have multiple reminders set (I’ve got different UYs), but it’s really not that big a deal & definitely worth it.

No automatic banking. However, the points do get taken care of automatically if you do nothing.

I usually bank my points far in advance, so I never tested this, but does DVC send at least a reminder at 30 and 7 days? That's the minimum I would expect.

I have gotten emails regarding banking when I still had a few points left..I think I even got when I had no points.

I don't really get why anyone would need/expect/want DVC to send reminders. There are many, many calendar & clock apps out there that offer reminder features that can be customized. My first generation smart phone comes with them built in, and my laptop has them, too.

I am far from a techie, but even I can figure those out, and they are much more likely to get my attention than an email. I get way too many emails as it is, and those from DVC are hit and miss anyway.

Well, because things happen and especially new members might not realize how important it is until it's too late

Even if there was, given Disney IT, I would not trust it. Multiple reminders in my Outlook calendar starting a couple of weeks ahead of the deadline for me.

I do the same. I have a reminder at 1 month, 1 week and 1 day before the deadline for both of my UYs
