Or Amhurst or Buffalo? A co-worker told my husband there is a Great Wolf Lodge about 2 hours away across the border, but the closest I can find is a 5-6 hour drive.

It seems the Canadian side has a few but I wondered about the American side. If they do, I think we would rather stay there for a weekend trip as we would like to do some shopping as well.

Splash lagoon in Erie , P A. I have never been but looked into it.

I was thinking the same a mom22belles, must be Splash Lagoon. We went a few years ago, it is smaller than GWL and not quite as new feeling but there is good shopping right down the road (nothing much different than Buffalo tho). I kinda liked that it was smaller than GWL as I felt I could let the kids go a little bit more than at GWL. It is fun but not sure if it is worth the drive.

Hey, thanks! That must be the waterpark his co-worker was thinking of. I mapquest it and it's 2 hours away from the border.

My husband & I were thinking of just staying in Niagara Falls/Buffalo area for a weekend. However mom was talking about her & I going to PA for a weekend. Maybe we can combine this into a family trip. The kids can enjoy the waterpark and mom gets to shop in PA like she wants. Mom & I can shop one day, and perhaps she (or both my parents) would look after the kids for a few hours so my husband & I can shop without them.

There's not a lot of good shopping in Erie. Certainly nothing like the Niagara Outlet Malls or Walden. That is according to the wife. And trust me, she knows her shopping.

The one time we went, the kids enjoyed the waterpark because of the short lines. Up and down, up and down...nonstop. Unlike busy GWL where you could sometimes line up 45 minutes for a single ride.

Too bad Kalahari is so far. Now that is a big waterpark!

The shopping in Erie is the same as Niagara Falls. The advantage is that there is no tax on neccessities ie: clothes and shoes. Is it worth the extra drive just to shop? No not at all, but if it's a weekend away it's a great idea. You can also drive 30 minutes further down the road to Grove City. There is a big outlet mall there that is a desination in itself.

The is a great wolf lodge in niagara falls canada as well as another waterpark hotel that I can remember the name of which is very close to casino niagara and the rainbow bridge.

Americana resort?

the Americana would be the last place I would go. It is used for a lot of teams and groups. The waterpark is very small. The rooms are cleanish but not nice.
If you stay on the Canadian side. Great wolfe or pick a hotel of your choice and visit Fallsview water park.
