Is there a waiting period for Flu shot after having the Flu? We do wait with Covid sooo

I believe the advice is surrounding by the severity of the symptoms. Minor symptoms with no fever seems to be okay once your existing symptoms have subsided but a more severe symptoms with higher fever seems you should wait until you're fully recovered.

The last time I had the flu was in early 2020 and it laid me out for quite a while with a high fever and more. It was the first time I had had the flu since I was a kid, the person who was with us (3 out of the 4 of us got the flu) was tested and it was positive for B type. In any case I would not have wanted to get a vaccine after that for a while til my body really had recovered which for me a cough sticks around for a month to a month and a half.

Also consider if you know you'll have reactions to the vaccine that may impact the timing. For the flu shot it's only ever been (and we've done the flu shot now for 4 yrs straight) a sore arm, maybe a tinge of feeling thirsty, teensy bit of fatigue. But that was not the case for the covid vaccine in which case I would have wanted to be feeling 100% before doing that because it was too hard on my body, adding in a mild illness would have made it worse for me.

Ultimately your daughter can just contact her doctor, consult with a Minute Clinic type situation or even call a nurse's hotline to discuss symptoms if they have concern over where they fall on severity.

With the likely billions of doses of covid vaccine that has been safely/effectively administered globally, I still find it hard to believe some believe the nonsense they find posted online. Listen to your doctor who is in the best position to offer sound/reputable medical advice and knows your specific health issues.

It is amazing what people will get sucked in and believe these days. It truly is sad.
